Probably the best Ichiban in MS! I have been to a handful and this location blows the rest out of the water! There is a HUGE variety of foods that are well stocked, fresh and HOT! The restaurant itself is very clean.You can expect the same price for dinner every day of the week. (As of now they do not raise the dinner buffet for the weekend)The only down side is the automatically add 15% gratuity to every check. I prefer to decide this and the amount. Sometimes I want to pay more Sometimes I have felt they earned far less. But none the less it's still a favorite.
Very friendly chefs. Hibachi was excellent and well seasoned. We were there upon opening at 5pm and no one else was. They served us within five minutes and cook Hibachi with just us two. We appreciated that. Great date night!
Food was not good / barely warm, tasted nothing like the pearl or flowood location. Small limited selection of sushi which was super disappointing. Hopefully time will get them on track.
They didn't inform us at the front door that they were closing in about an hour. We choose Hiciban but had to switch side to Ichibam.Food was excellent; Buffet had adequate choice of food, it was fresh and very good.
Two buffet meals, chsrged $28.87. That included the senior discount. The total bill was $32.97. When l questioned the surver, he mentioned company policy & called the manager. I told her the added tip was illegal. She informed me l had to pay it. I crossed off the tip & put the total for just the food. My bank was debited $32.97 within minutes after we left. I did contact my bank & fraudulent complaint will be made. Yes, it is illegal to add a 15% gratuity to the bill.
I eat here a lot I'm always getting the Habachi steak and chicken. 2 of my favorite chefs are there one is from Thailand and the other one from Laos. They both know me when I walk in the door. The food is always great no complaints here. This place has both quality and Quantity I'm always getting my food to go can't eat it all. Glasses stay full I don't have to wait for the server to bring another glass. Time my cup hits half full they are ready for you. Would you like a refill sir. So polite.
WARNING FORCED TIP: We have been regular customers at this location. It was upsetting that a 15% gratuity is now automatically added to your bill. Giving a tip is customary based on the service and should not be forced. Servers don't speak English and when we asked for a manager, the hostess presented herself but still unable to explain properly of the situation.If you think about it this type of place is not worth of 15% gratuity so you might want to go somewhere else.
Very disappointing. This is a buffet place that charges 15% GRATUITY!!????? I've been to this place once and was very shocked with the changes. Yes, we know that prices are going up these days but this is simply the wrong business move. As a business you cannot charge your customers an "automatic tip" because that is subjective if we like the food and service. This is a very disappointing result especially to be in Madison area. I hope the City will do something about it.
The Buffet is very very cool. Great selection and great service. Lunch is less expensive than Dinner.
Food quality is good for a buffet, but somewhat irritating that the server automatically added a tip for herself for a single diner. No sign posted that this is the policy.
