Not bad at all, but certainly nothing special. A lot of my Alabama friends hyped it up before they came to Madison so I had higher expectations. Menu is overwhelming on first visit, very large. I kept it simple and got a pulled pork sandwich. Portion is quite large, somewhat justifies the higher-end prices, but again nothing special and kind of dry. If you’re a fried okra connoisseur like myself, don’t order it here it’s awful. Nice staff nice atmosphere but food lacks authenticity imho.
Good bbq for fast service. Reasonable prices and big portions. Pork nachos are excellent.
Ribs were dried out. Pulled pork was liked puréed baby food, except dry as hell. Took over 30 minutes to get my whole order. They brought out one tray at a time. If they are going to be bringing out food like it’s a restaurant, then common sense would tell them to make sure everybody at the table gets majority of their food at the same time. This place will not be here long operating like this
The brisket had no bark on it - none. It's as if it was trimmed off, which makes no sense. And it was swimming in sauce when they brought it to me. Apart from the giant wood pile out back, there's not a shred of evidence it ever came near a smoker.That said, everything else was really good; so I will be going back, but I'll stick to pork.
Great food! The smoked chicken wasn't dried out like all of the other bbq places around here. Their chow and slaw are fantastic, although their chow is what I know as "hot slaw". Also had the coconut pie which was great. The staff was also very friendly. You get a lot of food for what you pay for, too.
Counter help and atmosphere of this establishment was great. My husband and I had the Classic Rib plate which consisted of 4 bones and 2 side's with our sauce on the side. I throughly enjoyed the baked beans and potato salad as they were very generous portions. The ribs were a tad tough and chewy with only a slight noticeable pink ring. The ribs in my opinion didn't taste like they'd been smoked for very long. I am glad that I requested the sauce on the side and glad I did so as to get the full flavor of the ribs. All and all there are a lot of other items on the menu that I will come back one day to try.
Great food and top-notch customer service. They were able to accommodate my need for an order for 30 people for a funeral. I ordered the night before and they made sure I had what I needed. I literally only had to pick up the food. They supplied everything from the paper products, utensils, food, cookies and even bags of ice! They made it all hassle and stress free, even with such short notice. We will definitely be back!
I went through the drive through and the male attending the drive through window was rude and not helpful. He said we could not pay separately for two meals and we could not add onion to the sandwiches.
My first impression at Full Moon was getting takeout the other day. The food taste was good as were the portions. It was a bit pricey, but was worth it. The to-go order was correct (it’s sad that’s such a big positive and not just expected these days).
I bought a large brisket sandwich without the Full Moon chow chow sauce. Most of the brisket was tender, but at least one large piece was too tough to eat. There was plenty of brisket on the sandwich, so this wasn't a fatal flawRe: the brisket... It was cut along the "grain" of the meat instead of across. This makes it much tougher too eat, even for tender meat, and the appearance is much less pleasing. The cook also rolled up each slice of brisket and put the rolls on the bun instead of laying slices on top of one another. I finally decided to open the sandwich and eat the brisket without the bun because it was easier that way. These are rookie mistakes for serving brisket, and suggest no attention from management, if they know better. For a barbeque restaurant, this is disappointing.My son had a burger and pulled pork nachos, and they were well done and tasty.
