Chaotic on Mothers Day. Not what I thought. Ordering at a counter is crazy. We ordered breakfast items. They were good enough, but dining room area was crowded and tables not cleaned off. Was afraid to order coffee (as we like good coffee) so we got chocolate milk. They stock extra fat/sugar version at 460 calories. Whoa. No one to explain how it all worked. We finally asked another customer.
Food not bad, seemed to be half breaded onion rings but rest was regular fair. What turned us off was an employee who kept saying she was to busy to work, or she couldn't do this, she couldn't do that, argued with her shift lead until he was totally frustrated. They were airing things in dining area that should have been handled away from customers. I will say we got there 10 minutes before closing but still was not nice to hear
If you need a hamburger at 7 in the morning and you have that craving they will make it for you very good breakfast in buttery biscuits homemade like Grandma
I went through the drive through that took 45 minutes. I ordered 2 tomatoes gravy biscuits combo's with the gravy in separate containers. The lady taking order did not understand my order. She said my order was $5.43 when it should have been over $12. I drove to the window to finish placing my order. I paid and took the two biscuits. She did not apologize for her taking my order wrong. Very rude! Then they gave me to plain biscuits and I had to go in the restaurant to get my order corrected. That took another 15 minutes. And this isn't the first time for bad service. I love the food here. But, the wait and the rude people are a little unbearable. For that,,, I give them a rating of 3 stars.
Food is great, employees very polite, and place is clean, but service is a little slow, probably because of how it is set up for ordering. Location isn't the best area of town, but it is located right off the interstate exit ramp.
Visited Laurel recently and per the mostly favorable reviews we decided to give Vics a try. Not real impressed, honestly. The good: service, sausage and biscuits. The place was not as clean as a food establishment should be, ESPECIALLY the bathrooms. We went early in the morning, they should have been spotless. Also, a large cheese grits is $2.33 and is nothing more than a scoop of white grits with a slice of American cheese on top, as pictured. Food was served on cheap Styrofoam plates with cheap plastic ware. Maybe this is just how it is but after all the hype, we expected more.
BEST biscuits I've ever had!! Now, service on the other hand is mediocre at best.....one older gentleman working the register, passing out the orders, making the coffee AND getting them hot water for the grits whenever needed, meanwhile a bunch of other employees stand around in the kitchen. 20 minute wait this time going inside, last week the drive thru took 47 minutes. Kudos to the older gentleman literally running his butt off and STILL SMILING taking orders!
Food was good, especially the biscuits and tomato gravy. People ? were great
A breakfast delight. Vic's biscuits are a must for my family. We are in town visiting family and every time on our way back home Vic's is a must stop - we hit the drive thru for Steak Biscuits (my favorite), sausage biscuits (patty or link, both very good) and maybe a pork chop biscuit...so good
The restaurant was busy, a testament of how good they are. Food was brought up quickly. Best biscuits.
