Very cool restaurant anywhere but especially in Jackson. I love a spot with a soul and you definitely feel that here.The food was perfectly seasoned and well-prepared. There was nothing out of place and no complaints.Pay the $5 uncorking fee online and it’s BYOB. Everyone there brought bottles of wine (honey mead for us) and wine glasses were provided.The tasting starts 30 min after arrival so you have time to look around at the art and explore the house.It’s definitely a great date night or small group activity!
This place is so special. It was a wonderful dining experience. The dinner consisted of 7 finely assembled items. Smoked ice-cream is an experimental dessert I will not forget. The ice cream with bananas and caramel was my favorite though. The atmosphere was cozy, and Chef and his assistant made me feel welcomed. Best of luck to this entity! I hope more people will give this place a try.
Excellent experience doing the tasting menu with Chef Zaccheus. Very creative and innovative menu presented by an enthusiastic young chef.So happy to have an experience like this one without the long trek to New Orleans.The house is very well designed and the Chef’s “guestaurant” concept allows for a very relaxed dining experience.We will recommend this spot to everyone we can. I truly hope it succeeds and becomes a mainstay in the Jackson food scene.
Make the reservation!!! Had the pleasure of having the Chef's tasting menu and it was worth every penny. Every item from the 10 course tasting was flavorful and filling. Give yourself plenty of time slow and easy is the best way. 2.5-3 hours is the approximate time ours was around 4 and my friend and I enjoyed every minute. Will definitely be back and will tell everyone to book a reservation at Southern Soigne.
Art is a matter of perspective and patience to understand the inner concept presented. Chef Golden is an artist with a conception of fine dinning that will one day earn him a Michelin Star like those he studied under. Quality, presentation, and venue have the makings of a true dinning experience that will always be remembered. If you live in Jackson or are just visiting this unique and interesting city make time for Southern Soigne.
I had the most delicious meal there that I’ve had in a long time. The chicken was cooked to perfection and the tear and share garlic butter and honey bread is something that I won’t forget. This is a place that you must check out as soon as you can.
So wonderfully special! Delicious and creative food combinations served in an intimate and delightful setting. Clean and bright decor with fabulous artwork to admire. Some of the best service I’ve ever had! Chef Zach is the real deal. You won’t regret trying his culinary offerings!
Although the inside of the home is beautiful and the food was amazing, the experience was disappointing. This was supposed to be a special dining experience guided by our Chef instead it ended up being one that ruined our night as a result of a lot of attitude from the Chef. The food was again amazing but extremely disappointed in the lack of interaction. At the end of the meal, the chef did not come back to say anything to the table. The interactions while dining make the experience as well and no matter how amazing the food is, attitudes can be off putting. Extremely disappointed in the overall experience.
Absolutely incredible. Some of the best food we’ve ever had, even having lived in France. So awesome that we have something like this in Jackson now.
Had the pleasure of coming here twice, so far. Both by far the best dining experiences I have ever had. Chef Zacchaeus Golden is absolutely amazing and that's an understatement.
