We visited Elvie's on a recommendation; & what a GREAT recommendation. We ate at Elvie's on a Saturday at 10 & were able to sit at the chef's counter. We enjoyed the interaction with the chefs as we waited on our food. The menu offers unique, exquisite dishes. I was the burying one in the party & ordered the savory pancakes. They were fluffy, sweet & delicious.
First time in Jackson, and found this delicious little gem. Located in the Belhaven neighborhood, with a distinct French feel, this place is a must try. We went in for breakfast, had a couple of bellinis and a Dutch baby to start, then I had the duckfat hashbrowns, while my husband had their biscuits and gravy. Everything was absolutely amazing, the taste, the presentation, the ambience, the service. Kristina was our server, she was attentive without being intrusive, and not only did she give us great recommendations for the menu, but also recommended some local places for us to check out. I wish we were going to be in Jackson more than a day, because I would definitely become a regular here.
I made an on line reservation and arrived to be told I could sit on the porch. It was 94 degrees. I was then told that I had a porch reservation. Who makes a porch reservation at that price point so you can swear and enjoy a gourmet meal. This is my second attempt at this restaurant and they failed again.

First, I reserved a reservation online and asked for the chef tasting menu. My reservation confirmation didn’t say anything about chef tasting menu so I called the restaurant. No one answered. I left a voicemail message explaining the problem along with my name and phone number. When I got to the restaurant they explained that I had not signed up for the chef tasting menu. They dropped the ball. Big disappointment. Overall, the food was very expensive and the portions were small. The fish entrée I ordered from the menu had a white sauce that was very thin and tasteless. I think they just dumped a bunch of cream and over the fish. The atmosphere sucked. It was very noisy. I will never go back there again. Total rip off.
Nice spot to enjoy a meal. Food was good and priced well. I would recommend a reservation as this is a very popular spot.
Favorite place to eat in the Jackson area. Food is always amazing. Drinks are fabulous. Atmosphere is fun! Literally everything is great, you just can't go wrong at Elvie's.
Quirky, interesting, and unexpected. This lovely little bistro highlighted a fine day of exploring Jackson. Service was excellent and the food choices perfect for a leisurely lunch. Even though the duck fat fries were not on the current menu, they graciously served them up for us.

We didn't make reservations so sat at the bar, which is where the action is. Everyone was so attentive and enthusiastic. The food was perfect with huge servings. The bartender was so knowledgeable about both the drinks and food. All was high energy and exciting. I loved it! Beautiful, historic place, too, that is super comfy.
