Heard great things about this restaurant. Soul food restaurant with no macaroni & cheese or okra???No sweet tea or unsweetened. No lemonade. Mashed potatoes were grainy and lukewarm. Pork chop was nicely seasoned and very tender. Good thing because the utensils are plastic.

Stopped here on a road trip and couldn’t have picked a better spot. Any soul food restaurant that has pig feet as one of the first entrees on the menu is legit! We had the fried chicken (fried fresh on the spot, let me tell you), fried okra, mac n cheese, and yams. The sweet tea brought back memories of my late grandmother’s sweet tea, and the homemade lemonade was delicious. The owners were super sweet and even brought out some extra goodies for our kids to eat. Next time I’m in Jackson, I definitely plan on coming back!! You will not regret a meal here. So cool that they were featured in Garden & Gun, too!

Food was real good. I have no complaints. Necklines with yams and Mac and cheese.

Authentically Southern cooking from the ham hocks and pig ear sandwiches to the smothered fried chicken with yams and greens that I ate. Recognized as a James Beard Classic with good reason. All the food was delicious. This is a clean and well run (yes, funky) place at the heart of Jackson's foodie scene. Must-go.

Very friendly folks not to long of a wait.. Place looks like its been the same on the inside since it was first established.

Baked chicken was SALTY. RICE smelled like boo-boo. Lima beans were good. Portions are really small. Mac n cheese not much flavor. Cornbread was greasy and weird..like old or something. Service slow. No I won't be going back. 2 stars for the seemingly nice people though.

Best Soul Food I've ever had! It was also clear that everyone genuinely cared that you enjoyed your meal and dining experience. Sort of a rare thing these days. Cant wait to go back.

Amazing place to eat and laugh. Very welcoming staff. I had the ox tail and ate every bit off the bones. The corn bread was amazing. I'll be back.

If you love down home soul food then you have got to go there. The food is amazing and the staff is soooo friendly. We always stop there whenever we are in Jackson.
