Despite being called “The Midtowner”, the food is in-fact not mid. I had avocado toast and it was very good. There were sliced avocado pieces on top and a spread of avocado on the toast. The eggs were good as well, and my side of cheese grits were delicious.
First time coming here. Seems like the change to stopping the full breakfast menu at 11am is a relatively recent one… and one the staff seem to like. Happy staff means better service so happy for them. That said, the last time we TRIED to come here, the wait was outlandish and we left. Today we were today about 45 minutes, so we waited and ultimately took a seat at the bar.Omelette was good, pancakes were good… I gotta be honest, I wasn’t impressed by the cheese grits. Not sure if that was the last of that particular batch, but they were gross and runny.Nice little place if you have the patience though. We left full and pretty satisfied.
I heard the chatter about The Midtowner for a while before I was able to have my first visit the other day. Outstanding. Country fried steak was the best I've had. My wife let me in on the spicy hash browns secret. Get there early or plan on waiting a bit, definitely worth it.
Freaking amazing!! James was our server and he was awesome! We had fish and grits topped with andouille sausage and fried fish and biscuits. After tasting the fish we had to order the chicken and waffles to go! We'll definitely be back I mean, it's just an hour away! ??♀️
Very pleased with the wait time, level of service, attentive staff. Food is off the chain. My photo depicts the meal i devoured. A fresh fruit cup, and I mean fresh, accompanied my entree. Honestly, I can't wait to het back there and try another item. For as many times as I have been past there, the opportunity finally arose. So pleased I did. Thank you Midtowner!
Great breakfast. Great atmosphere. Friendly service. I recommend the "Hardy Breakfast". I do not recommend the bloody mary (small and weak and not spicy). Over all, a great breakfast.
We had a great experience. Service was fantastic, breakfast was delicious. Sat at the counter with no wait time instead of waiting 10-15 mins for a booth it was a Sunday morning around 8:15am. We would definitely visit again and suggest it to others
Quick easy cheap breakfast!
The Midtowner is a great spot for breakfast. We were told the wait would be 30 – 40 minutes and they got us seated in about 15-20 minutes. We had the chicken and waffles, eggs bacon, cheddar grits and pancakes. The chicken and waffles are some of the best we have ever had! The cheddar grits were really good as well. This is a fun spot with tons of historical pictures everywhere.
Great food and service. The spicy hash browns and fried ham are amazing. I'm not a sweets for breakfast kind of guy but the French toast is really good and i would eat it. With all that said the price to food ratio is fantastic.
