We ate here after a long night of traveling and playing in different casinos. Since we were staying at Harrah’s, we ate here since it is opened 24 hours a day. The cook called in that night from what the cashier said and another lady filled in. She said she wasn’t a cook, but could cook a hamburger. The meat was deli thin and burnt to a crisp on our patty melts. You couldn’t even taste it.
Service has been consistently inconsistent since opening.Also, If the drive through is inoperable or closed, turn off the light.
I’d give you zero if I could. I’d say it started with the 20 minute wait with a 5 year old just standing waiting to order, or the smart ass employee who was too busy to help a lady with her 3 kids, but wasn’t too busy to criticize her in front of me and my son, or the shake machine being broken at Steak N SHAKE. I did feel sorry for the poor girl who took our order because she was trying, yet overwhelmed because nobody was helping. It was just a pathetic experience and $100,000,000.00 dollars and a million Alpacas wouldn’t ever bring me back.
Just tried to go to steak and shake in hattiesburg walked up to the counter to order. They did not even acknowledge us. We tried them 3 times. Walked. Out all three. They suck.

Food was good. The place was clean. However, they only provided paper straws for the milkshakes. The paper straws became soggy within 10 minutes, I couldn’t taste anything but paper, and the straw came apart in my drink. Only providing paper straws for the shakes seems like a weird double standard, if you ask me, considering that everything is served in either styrofoam or plastic.
This is what $10 dollars gets you…. Pathetic. Tastes good but portions are RIDICULOUS. Stick with the $4 menu, that’s actually what it should be.
Shake was good but meal was poor. Tasted greasy!!! I’m use to a smash burger being thin meat patties with may a bit of crispy edges. These were just thin and floppy and tasted bad. I honestly only ate half the burger. Fries were plain tasting w no salt at all. Poor experience which is sad because I normally love Steak ‘n Shake.
