Best brisket in a long while!
This was our second visit to Murky Waters coming through town while traveling. Stellar both times! Had brisket, pork, fries (crazy good!), drinks … excellent food, atmosphere, and service.
We stopped by after a hot day at the zoo. Seating took a few minutes (party of 6.) Our waitress was very nice and professional. Our drinks from the bar were made quickly and were delicious (Pineapple Mojito and Mississippi Mud Pie Martini.) Our food was super quick, it was hot and fresh, it tasted amazing. I would definitely come back again and recommend to everyone.
Dining here is definitely worth repeating. Everything was delicious and the selection looked very good. My only complaint is that the food was slow to arrive but the quality made up for that. The staff was very friendly and the patio is dog friendly as well.
We really liked this place. Wonderful and friendly people. Our waiter was awesome. I wish I got her name. I would definitely give her a shout out. It didn't take long to get our food. Which long waiting times at a BBQ joint is expected. At least at every BBQ joint I've eaten at. Which I'm okay with that. if the food is good. And the food was great. I wished I would've made a double order on the brisket SAMMITCH though. My only problem and it was a minimal problem was the ribs I had were a little dry. The homemade BBQ sauces cured that problem. Everything else was phenomenal. I could've married the Coleslaw it was so good. I don't even like coleslaw. The portions are more than enough. I was able to make three meals out of my order. I don't see how my son ate most of his meal in one sitting. Anyway I recommend giving these folks a try.
We are in town visiting and this place was just around the corner from where we were staying. It took a while for the food to come but it was worth the wait. You get so much with the dinners. The fried okra was WELL seasoned and they heaped on the brisket (it fell apart as you picked it up)! Everything was delicious and I would definitely do it again.
We had our dog with us so we requested outdoor seating. The were very willing to accommodate. However, it took forever to get menus - then forever to place order - and even longer to get the food. Flies were TERRIBLE - we finally got to go boxes, paid and left. I know -- eating outside = flies. But this was the last of 8 days on vacation and every meal out - was outdoor dining and we never had issues with flies. So, I would probably visit again IF I were dining inside.
Amazing food and great service. I had the pick three meal. I chose the garlic parmesean wings, sausage and the slices brisket. Everything was incredible. The sausage was a little salty but still tasty. I would highly recommend Murky Waters.
Driving home from North Carolina to New Orleans with BBQ cravings. Searched and found Murky Waters. My wife and I were very satisfied. Neat location in a renovated house. Lots of interesting blues art and photos on the walls. Very good food and friendly service. An interesting well stocked bar. If you are in town or on the highway this place is worth a stop
