A lovely gem! It may be housed in an old Pizza hut building, but the food and service are absolutely wonderful! The Chicken and Shrimp Florentine was very flavorful and great. The spaghetti and meatballs were delicious as well. Please don't even get me started on the Italian creme cake! Absolutely made my mouth water! This was my first visit and I definitely plan to come back!
Comforting and friendly, service was great. Unfortunately they ran out of 3 of my wine choices , but ok ….forgivable, they don’t stock a huge supply . Italian wedding soup was authentic and well spiced, meatballs served with a homemade tomato sauce- like marinara . The Caesar salad was large but mostly outer romaine leaves so not the crispy best. All in all not gourmet level, but authentic Italiano and pleasantly satisfying.
Absolutely worth it! Great service, with friendly staff who were timely with getting us our food. The portions were large, so be prepared to take some home with you. Never skip on dessert here, it is always the best part of the meal. Wonderful place to get great food and support local small businesses.
Best Italian dishes I’ve had in MS! They start you off with homemade bread knots and a side of olive oil/garlic dip- REALLY good! I tried the taste of Sicily- fettuccine Alfredo, lasagna, and chicken parmigiana- all three were very cheesy and had wonderful flavor. My husband enjoyed Mario’s favorite Marsala. Family owned and managed (grandma makes the cheesecakes). Service was top notch, efficient and friendly. This is the original location- maybe 15 tables and a small bar. They have been so successful that they recently opened a second restaurant on Highway 98.
Three of the three dishes were amazing. The waiter was attentive and friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant.
I had the spinach ravioli today. It was delicious. mother-in-law had chicken Alfredo & husband had manicotti. I would recommend Mario's to everyone. I don't think you will be disappointed. In my opinion it's much better than Olive Garden.
Super un-assuming spot but dang it's legit and definitely scratch here. The salad was delicious, bread out of sight and chicken della casa was amazing! The lunch special all for 10.99 was criminal how cheap for the quality and quantity!
Thank you for a WONDERFUL dinner for our mom’s 80th birthday!! The service was perfect even on a busy night. Our waitress, Lauren, ran around to make our night lovely. We loved the house bread. The Caesar salad was huge! All entrees were yummy. They went out of their way to have a delicious cake ready for the big day. It meant so much to us. Love from New Jersey!!
horrible experience we went to the new restaurant and the hostess was very rude and she said there was a hour wait but there was a lot of empty tables . then we drove to the other location and the hostess there told us they wasn't taking any more names for a waiting list but it was a hour before closing that doesn't make sense . we are so disappointed!!!!
Mario's food is always delicious and consistent!! love this family run business!! our favorites: shrimp scampi Palermo, insalata caprese, Mario's specialty pizza, fabulous meatballs, Mario's favorite, and so many more! Never have had anything that was no superb!! ❤️?
