My food was so good... My server Ms.T was the best... I definitely recommend Dan's Diner..
I love this place food is seasoned just right and nice portions. Staff is super friendly as well….. come all the way from Michigan this time and made sure my route included a stop here??????
Am A+ for effort because this place stays full and the workers work hard. Other than that, the food is not that great. The South is primarily known for its ‘down home cookin.’ This place doesn’t represent that at all. Canned vegetables and mediocre fried foods are the menu. I’ve given this place 3 chances, but have been disappointed. Today was it. I ordered a fried chicken salad with a side of Mac n cheese. Needless to say I paid $15 for some shredded bagged Walmart lettuce, one cut up chicken tender and some powdered on grated cheese along with noodles and flavored cheese water. If you’re not from the South then you’ll probably love it ? If you’re from the South, stick with mama and grandmas REAL cookin.
DO NOT RECOMMENDED!! We had a party of 3 for lunch. We each ordered and sat and waited for 30 minutes for our food after watching it sit in the window for 15 minutes,tried several times to get someone's attention. They were to busy making sure the table of 10 was taken care of very well when they weren't outside smoking. FINALLY our food came. Everything was bland. The fried okra was room temp, the Mac and cheese was cold. The gizzards was bland. It was just the worst service. We had eaten here several times through the years but pandemic happened so we haven't been for years until this day. I Haven't been so disappointed in our food as I was this day. Order was a 2 gizzard specials one with Mac and okra, the other one okra and french fries gravy on the fries and gizzards. The third was hamburger and ff. The burger was cold and red in the middle and had a piece of raw meat on the rim of the plate. And before anyone says why didn't you send it back We weren't sitting there waiting another 30 minutes. At this point watching the workers go in and out smoking, I didn't want anything else. YEA we told them. They denied it said it was fresh and hot. WASN'T! I hope they get better and can get back to what it used to be.
According to my husband the restrooms were disgusting. He said the urinals had urine deposit buildup, unacceptable. The restaurant seemed clean enough until I grabbed the booster seat. Which has all kinds of food drips on it, we ended up covering it with paper towels. Food was good, the restaurant supposedly has an "A" rating for cleanliness, not sure how old the rating is.
Always good food and excellent service. Today or waitress was Shantrell and she did an outstanding job. Good was great, Grilled Chicken Salad was perfectly seasoned and given plenty of dressing. No having to ask for extra like most places!!!Nothing negative to say at all!
Service was a tad bit slow, but thats only because it was super busy. Otherwise the Food and Server were TERRIFIC!! Locals know the spots and the phone for TOGO orders hardly ever stopped! They know this food is GOOD!! We will definately keep this place in rotation when we get to the area! Keep up the good job! Hope to enjoy the hospitality again soon!
Old school truck stop Old school Restaurant food is off the hook. Been driving for 41 years this is a blast from the past excellent service excellent food great service price.the flavors are phenomenal. Definitely a must. If you leave hungry it's your fault.
All the ladies behind counter was super friendly and fun and was like family. The food was fantastic and I will go back every possible chance I get. Keep up the great work y’all are awesome. I appreciate y’all.
I found myself a little "gem in the rough" so to speak. I am a Truck Driver and I deliver across the street in the morning. Another driver had posted in our notes about there being a truck stop across the street.I decided that I would park here for the night and try out the Cafe inside. As I walked into the Cafe I was greeted by the waitress. She came to my table and took my drink order. Once she brought me my drink I asked for a little more time to decide. She came back a few minutes later and I asked her what she recommended as I had narrowed it down to a few items. She gave me a few of her favorites which one matched with mine.I had the HBSTK, with the days special "red beans and rice", along with a side salad. The food was delicious.Shantrell, or "T" as they call her, did an excellent job. I frequent truck stop restaurants a lot in my job and finding good customer service from a waitress is almost impossible. I found a good one today. Thank you Shantrell!
