We have been going to El Sombrero for well over 2 years. Yesterday my family met there and the service was horrible. My boyfriend and I went back today, and 2 servers were on the patio, one was smoking the other was just sitting there. We sat down No one ever came to get our drinks. Another table came in after we were there about 20 minutes and waited on that table asked if someone had come to the table, we said no. She went in the manager came out asked about our drinks and brought them. Still no chips and salsa!!!!! When a waiter finally came to the table we were so irritated that all I ordered was a soft taco NO CHEESE!!!! WHEN HE BROUGHT IT OUT PACKED WITH CHEESE. I TOLD HIM TO TAKE IT BACK AND GIVE US A CHECK FOR THE DRINKS. HE WAS VERY RUDE. They don't have to worry we won't be back!!! Everyone was rude!!!!!
One of the worst eating experiences I’ve had in a while: no drink or chip refills, waited over an hour for food, and the server didn’t check on the table once. Food was subpar too, as the refried beans were cold, carnitas lacked flavor, and tortillas were soggy. Would not recommend
Have never had a bad experience here. Always great food and good service. People who claim they are slow on Fridays with cold food ect. most likely wrote their reviews during covid. The ones complaining that the food is bad, most likely went on a whim to order something they didn't know if they liked or not.
First time trying El Sombrero and it will not be my last. Everything was incredible. By far my favorite salsa of any Mexican restaurant in the Metro area. The food was great and the service was wonderful. I will definitely return.
The food was ok and the service was hit and miss. My husband really liked his food but everyone else thought their food was just ok. We will probably go elsewhere next time for Mexican food.
The owner (the big tall guy) was sooo rude!!! This is not the first time myself, family or friends have experienced this. The waiters are amazing but this man is awful!!! You would think he would be great with customer service but I have never had an owner/manager be as rude as this man. I own a business with 6 locations. The customer is the most important bc without them you do not exist. This man would do well to remember this!
We got to El Sombrero and got seated quickly. We received chips and salsa quickly. 2 more groups of people came in and were seated. Those 2 tables had a waiter and got drinks while no one had been to our table. The waiter finally came to our table to take our drink orders and we also ordered cheese dip. When he brought our drinks he had forgotten the cheese dip. He walked off quickly and when I saw him again I reminded him. He brought it and took our order. He brought our food out and that is the last time he came to our table during our meal, except to bring us our ticket. The food was decent except for my toddler had ordered chicken nuggets and fries. The nuggets looked like McDonald's old nuggets, except these were burnt to a crisp. The nuggets were so dried and burnt that they were hollow. Other El Sombreros are better, this one, not so much. Very unfriendly staff. Their attitudes made us feel like we were bothering them. And for the record, I didn't mention the chicken since my son wasn't very hungry. And I had a gift certificate.
Microwaved and steam table food. Here is my Chile Relleno freshly microwaved and exploded cheese everywhere. BTW you must ask for a poblano Relleno or you get some kind of mess dogs dinner mash up.
Not great, not bad. It's a good place for simple Mexican meals in flowood. Good location but the drinks are weak ? I'm sure Covid is causing them staffing woes
