We visited friends here, who highly recommended this restaurant. The servers were very good and the food was good as well.. But… we waited over an hour for the food to arrive - and there were not many folks in the restaurant when we arrived at 5pm, nor when we departed around 8pm. I received a text from American Express notifying me my credit card had been charged twice in the amount of $94.91. That is a pending charge and I expect it to be reversed within a few days. I gave a ‘2’ star rating because the servers were attentive during the long wait for our dinner.
We thought this would be a great place for a family outing. Our waitress was a young blond and couldn’t handle servicing a group of people. We waited so long just to get a soda which was flat. She brought out a pitcher of coke which was better than the coke’s we received in our glass. It was a long wait for our appetizers but it was delicious. The vegetables were dry. I ordered grilled salmon which was quite tasty but when I got to almost the last of it I found 4 bones!! I complained to the waitress. She wanted to see the bones so I gave her my plate and she said she would take the charge off the bill. Another lady came out, she didn’t identify herself but she told me she would only take a percentage off because half the salmon was gone. I explained when I found the bones gathered together I stop eating. I had nothing to do with where the bones were. She was not friendly nor did she apologize!!!WATCH OUT FOR BONES in the SALMON!!
Went there for a late Valentines dinner with my wife. With kids activities and work sometimes our time takes weeks to get. We went expecting good food and good service only to get a young blonde waitress that doesn’t know the menu. We didn’t know there was specials until we heard others talking about it as we were leaving. Waited 2 hours for food I could’ve dove into a dumpster to get. The cook says he’s the best steak cook in Mississippi but clearly he’s never been to an actual steak house. And he also had trouble with us telling him his little girl friend waitress was no good. She would take 30 minutes to come back with refills. When we asked about how much longer in our food would be, she never came back until she brought the check. The food is so bad we’re bringing back the left overs to my Great Pyrenees, if she’ll eat it. The last picture is of his “great steak” in my dogs bowl.
Candy was a terrific waitress! The food was delicious and the atmosphere was great!
What was supposed to be a nice good bye dinner, turned into 3 hours of sitting, waiting, wishing.After 1.5 hours of waiting for our food (in which we were repeatedly told the food would be served any moment now), we were assured our food comes out next. After 2 hours wait, we finally received our cold sides with a lukewarm overcooked steak or steak tips drowned in cold vinegary bbq sauce. Needless to say, no one was able to enjoy or finish their food. The fun wasn’t over yet though. We still got to wait another hour for the check of the entirely overpriced food.I would like to point out though, the one star I did give is for the waitress, who only had her second day there and was challenged with this nonsense from the kitchen/management and still tried to do her best.
Now let me tell you about Golden Horn. This place was absolutely fantastic without a doubt. They had a great selection of food and drinks. Appetizers came out immediately after ordering them. I had found myself looking around while eating my Appetizer and was so in love with the scenery. After this we order our food and let me tell you, it came out so quick and was really on point. It just couldn't get any better than this if I am being honest.....Then I woke up... it appears I had fallen asleep at the table after wating 2 1/2hrs for my food. After receving my food my baked potato was cold, missing all this sides and my garlic bread was so under cooked I couldn't enjoy that crisp we all love. Everyone else at my table recieved food that was of poor quality. Good thing Gordon Ramsey wasn't here. This was not the waitress' fault at all, she did what she could and was fantastic. This was the fault of management and the cooking staff. This wasn't just an issue with our table, it was the entire restaurant which is unacceptable. As my parents said to me when I messed up as a child. I am not mad.... I am just disappointed.
Food was decent. Nothing special. Absolutely horrible service. Hour and twenty minutes to food. Luckily she left the drink pitchers on the table next to us were we could refill our own drinks because we hardly saw a waitress. They were not busy mabe eight cars in the lot when we arrived at ten till 8. Place was empty when we left at 930. Appetizers came and we were still not offered silverware. Finally had to ask for silverware. Just seemed as nobody really cared that anyone was there to eat. Will not be back.
Food was really good. Service was good. The problem was it was too loud. We had a table for four and you had to lean over to them to hear them and they hear you. There are things that could be done to help reduce the loud noises from other groups. You can’t have a peaceful meal and conversation. I won’t go back because of this.
Good food. Nice folks. Really slow service though.
I have eaten there a couple times. The first time was amazing the second time was just average but is still good food and our server was very friendly.
