We were treated to friendly service, the food and drinks were delivered quickly, and the presentation was wonderful. The unique space was inviting and comfortable. The beignets were very tasty, as was the shrimp and grits and biscuits and gravy. Thank you!

I wanted to like this place but it didn't meet our expectations in any way. The building was very cool but that was about it. The food was mediocre (shrimp and grits were salty) especially for the price, and beignets were served in paper plates for some reason. The kitchen needs to get the extractor fixed because the whole place was smokey and the bathroom tidied up. I don't think we'll return.

How disappointing. We got to the restaurant and sat outside. I couldn't even tell you our waiters name because we literally only saw him barely twice. Unfortunately we sat a table directly in the sun. I went inside to ask if we could switch tables and a nice young lady took the plates off an empty table (didn't wipe it down) and let us move. We waited over an hour for our breakfast food- simple stuff, right? No one told us anything during our wait. We just sat there and watched countless people walk in and directly back out with disappointing faces. We finally got our food after an hour and ate. We over heard someone say you have to go inside to pay, no one ever told us. I went inside to pay where I was told she didn't have the change to give me (0.61) which yes it was under a dollar, but with such horrible service that was just the cherry on top. I asked to get some items removed from our receipt, which she did (she of course chose the cheapest of items). I paid and left. No tip. We saw our server twice: at ordering and soon after we got our mimosas. I would not return nor do I recommend this place.

service was slow but the food was good

Just had the pleasure of enjoying one of the best Sunday Brunches I’ve ever had! To the amazing owner who gave us an option enjoy her wonderful food, to the amazing service we received, thank you! Can’t wait to return for another visit, you all are the best! Empty plates equal excellent food!

We had brunch here about 10:30 this morning. The mimosa with berries, beignets, spicy omelette and southern stack with crab were all excellent. The cafe is in an old house that was once a public library. It is full of character and charm. This is not the place if you are in a hurry (McDonalds is around the corner) but IS the place if you are ready to slow down, savor and enjoy! I highly recommend.

I came in and ordered two coffees. ~$10The place had a 45 min - 1 hour minute wait to be seated. The kitchen was backed up. As of writing, I don't know if they do call ahead seating, but I'd highly recommend it.I could tell the cafe has issues with ventilation. My eyes were burning and the air was cloudy. I felt like the kitchen was leaking into the dining area. There's one bathroom for the building. It was not maintained well, but I could tell the staff did what they could. My guess is lack of funds for equipment. The hand soap machine was empty as was the paper towel machine. In their stead was a bottle of hand soap refilled with dish soap. The staff was friendly and professional they handled the influx of people well.I noticed something while waiting for coffee. The people that are seated will finish their meals and sit around for about 15-20 mins after the table is cleared. I understand that people like to relax after their food has been eaten, but there must be a compromise. I feel it's awkward to be at your table with other customers looming over like hungry vultures.I feel there should be a waiting area downstairs for people waiting to be seated. Seeing people waiting on the stairs and sitting at tables was a bit off putting. An area designated for a queue would be ideal.

Amazing food! Biscuits and gravy were to die for!

We had a great time! The food, drink, & decor were nice. Each plate was perfect on its own, but they all complimented each other as well. I’ll go back every time I’m in town.

Wasn’t even able to eat there. The sign said pick up a menu and seat yourself and when we sat an employee made us get up because we weren’t in the list. She didn’t even tell us who to go to to get on the list. One of the girls in our group has a dairy allergy and when asked about what items are ok for her the woman said the Gouda grits were dairy free. We went to Waffle House instead and had the most amazing experience 10/10 will suggest choosing Waffle House over this cafe any day.
