We were seated quickly and a waitress took our drink orders promptly, too, and got us chips and salsa right away. Their chips are crispy and delicious, especially combined with their smoky, medium spicy salsa. I ordered the shrimp plantain salad from their dinner menu and it was a very tasty combination of flavors and a portion much larger than the online menu shows; would have liked a bit more of the dressing and more shrimp in it but it was still awesome. My wife ordered the Birria taco dish and found the beans, rice and tacos all among top flavors comparative to other solid Mexican restaurants. My college age son ordered the Chori Pollo and devoured it but forgot to taste it (if you have a college boy, you know what I mean).
My husband and I dined here this evening for the first time. I had not heard of this restaurant and thought we'd give it a try especially since it was rated 4+ stars. We weren't impressed. The ambiance is weak - rather dark and boring with little going on, depressing actually. Our server wore a mask and it was very difficult to understand her. She was ok, nothing to rave about. The chips and salsa upon sitting down was nice and the flavor was average. I ordered street tacos that came with rice and beans and my husband had the enchiladas. My food, especially the rice and beans, was cold. The flavor was average or below. We each ordered iced tea and it tasted so bad our server took it off the menu; ended up drinking water. So shocking how this place is rated even four stars. We couldn't wait to get out of there and would never go back or recommend.
I’ve never seen a quesadilla that looked like this. And isn’t there supposed to be cheese in them. This for $15.00? No thanks. Sorry I was hungry and ate half before the photosIn response to the owner the email you listed is bogus and that shows your character. Dishonesty doesn’t bode well for a restaurant owner. Also it was a first time visit so ordering something unique like you suggested is inappropriate. It was my impression that the person taking the order understood very minimal English. Smart. Best of luck
The chips were stale, the salsa that comes with the chips be default was tomato soup? Ordered the queso and it was good, guac was good, the Verde salsa had a good kick and tasted great. We had empty drinks and chip bowl for about 10 minutes before the food was served. I ordered the al pastor torta with fries. The fries were okay, nothing particularly good. Now, let me tell you about this torta. Holy **** is that torta ****ing delicious. If the only experience I had would have had at this place was with the torta, easy 5 stars.I probably wouldn't come back because half of the meal was very meh and the service could have been more reactive despite the delicious torta.Leave your waiter/ess a good tip and enjoy your meal!3/5
Another Hidden Gem has been uncovered! Like Birria? Like pizza? Well they have a Birria pizza with Consume to dip it in! Street Tacos are also very good! Did I mention the Machete? The Salsa here is also pretty dang good! And it's complimentary!
Same as everyone else. Food is great. Service is so bad. The last two times we went, servers were inattentive. It took 15 minutes to get our drinks. Asked for a second drink right when the first one arrived and never received it.Tried ordering online and just grabbing it instead to avoid a wait. Placed the order 2 hours before picking it up. Went to get it at the slotted time and it wasn’t ready. Waited there for 12 minutes before it was ready.I’m all for small businesses and good food. This place could be great if owners paid more attention to timeliness.Go across the street to The Tavern instead.
A wonderful place for lunch or supper! Their tacos are out of this world. Order a bunch of flavors and try them all. Their machete is great for sharing or if you want leftovers. But be aware that if you get multiple fillings the fillings are sectioned, so if you split it in half with someone you'll miss out on some of the filling. Staff was welcoming, friendly, and helpful. I'm definitely stopping back to try more taco varieties.
The salsa for the chips was great! I had a machete Al pastor and the meat tasted different but was okay. Churros were delicious.
This Mexican restaurant is located plumb on 494 and 94 exits. They have daily happy hours. The Margaritas are great. On top of that Wednesdays are $3 Margaritas.Despite a nearly full restaurant our server got our drinks and food in matter of minutes. There are plenty of choices for tacos. Reasonably priced, they even have an option for vegetarians. We'll be back.
Great Service Marla Food was Fresh. Hot Very tasty
