Not bad. Nothing special. Bathrooms not very well kept. A bit disorganized with the line to order. Beer is good, food is good. Outdoor patio is nice.
Delicious beers and awesome food! Patio is always fun to sit out on. Staff is super friendly and go out of their way to make sure you’re happy.

Good beer and atmosphere. Were there for a private party. They make a crème soda that is very good. The patio was nice and the servers were outstanding.
Can’t say enough great things about this place and their “all are welcome” mission and vision! We had the opportunity to get a behind the scenes tour with Jill and Lucky. They were gracious and informative guides. The beer and seltzers are great, wonderful outdoor patio, good food options including a kids menu. We will be returning soon!
I truly love Urban Growler. I have frequented this brewery (rumor has it entirely owned by women, woo hoo!) since its opening. I love the large and tree covered patio, the historic and cool looking building, its proximity to another unique craft brewery (Bang Brewery is literally a 1 minute walk from UG), and the large selection of great food.Have I said enough??!!! No! On the last trip I went to UG for a business meeting to discuss rental of the "Barrel Room" - a private space available for rental from Urban Growler. It's a beautiful space, located behind the actual taproom. Ultimately, the large reunion I'm planning for August did rent the space! So, some of my photos is of the "Barrel Room". Public seating is available in the Barrel Room if the taproom is full and the room is not rented out. It's beautiful!The food is delicious and unique to most taprooms that only offer food trucks. Beer selections are rotating, with good choices of NE IPA's, lagers, a porter, and a nice chocolate stout. Staff is super super friendly, and Payton, the staff member handling rental of the Barrel Room, was incredibly friendly and helpful. She worked with us on the cost, and I am sure the reunion will be a complete success!I give Urban Growler an easy 5 star for the great beers, good and central location, outdoor wonderful patio, great staff, historic building, and fun vibe.I would only give one "ding" to Urban Growler, and it has nothing to do with UG - is that the ROAD from University Ave is freaking falling apart! The pot holes are so big I worried I'd chip a tooth on one of them. Geez St. Paul, fix your damn roads already!!! Be warned. Drive slow.
They added additional seating in the parking lot, so it's much easier to get a seat. Food and beer are still top notch.
Chicken sandwich is good.
I had their Tart Cherry Porter. It was fabulous!
Staff was very friendly! Got the Twin Cities basket with cheese sauce. The cheese sauce was very good. We tried the different beers. All were good! Older building with lots of character. They have outside seating, but today was too cold.
