Tono's was on my list for pizza places that I needed to try, but I ended up going with the cheesesteak because I have never had one! I went with the South Philly with cheese whiz to keep it classic. The first thing I noticed was how soft the bread was. This was a good start because nobody wants a dried out roll. I'm not a huge cheese whiz fan, but I wanted to still give it a try since it has been forever since I have had it. Next time, I would try a sliced provolone melted with the meat on the grill top if they do something like that since cheese whiz notoriously has an artifical taste by its nature. The cheesesteak could have maybe used a bit more seasoning but it was still pretty tasty. They also didn't skimp on the cheese which is good because its called a cheesesteak for a reason! The fries were crunchy and delicious too. I also loved the rough sawn lumber for flooring and trim and the overall design of the interior. There is a small parking lot in the back so it shouldn't be too hard to find a spot. I will be back for pizza in the future to give it a try as well!
Loved everything about this place. The staff were excellent in serving us, and talkative. The food was phenomenal. Will definitely be back! Got the Philly with onions, peppers, mushrooms and made with cheese whiz(supreme). Reminded me of when I got a Philly in Philadelphia with my mom years ago. The pizza is a primo.
First time trying this place and boy was it good. We didn't wait long at all. I ordered the #13 steak sandwich, my boyfriend ordered the fat tone. Very clean establishment. We even met the owner Tom.
My boyfriend and I decided to try Tono for the first time tonight. We placed our online order at 6:09 pm and the confirmation email said our order would be ready by 6:29. We got to Tono at 6:32. By 6:43 our order was still not ready and my boyfriend was told our order would be up next. We did not end up getting our order until 7:05 (even though I received a text at 6:54 stating it was ready).The pizza was average at best and seemed to have been done much before the Philly because it was cold.The Philly sandwich was pretty good. I understand that places are understaffed these days but overall, not the best experience.
CHEESESTEAKS FOR EVERYBODY! If you can’t find a version of this iconic sandwich you’ll like, you’re not reading the menu. I went “simple” with steak, provolone and bacon, and I was very pleased with the results! (My stomach says “thank you”, by the way) Service was good, food was great, price was worth it as I got two meals out of one sandwich, and the store was clean and had a cool ambiance to it. I’m coming back soon to try some of the other menu items! I can’t help but to give four out of five stars. To give less would only be because I want them to myself!
Stopped in today and ordered to take home. Two Number 3 Phillies with Steak and Cheese Wiz, Sausage Pepperoni Onions Mushroom Fresh Basil Pizza.Wow!! Delicious!! Hot.Easy Parking in Lot, Staff was very, very friendly. Food was ready right on time. Can’t wait to eat inside some day. Good job everyone. Kendall
This place just keeps getting better and better! The cooks tonight hit it out of the park. I ordered the Phat Tony. My bread was perfectly toasted (loved that it was toasty), bacon was amazing, cheese melted, and the habanero jam spicy. I ordered it Online and it was ready at the estimated time. I was in and out in a flash. You guys made the delivery shift I worked tonight so much better. Thanks for doing a great job. You made my sandwich like you were making your own.
Delicious pizza! We loved the hoagie and the truffle fries. My favorite place in the neighborhood.
Great pizza! Quick service and friendly staff. Order at counter and food is brought to your table. Not a lot of seating, parking lot and street parking. Definitely will be back!
Excellent Philly cheesesteak and Tono sauce. They don't want cash unless you have exact change, so had to leave bigger tip.
