Friendly and helpful service. My coffee drink was very tasty and there was a nice array of small gifts available for purchase. I'll soon return.
Really neat local coffee shop, they make a great mocha! I met the owner once and she was great to talk to. Highly recommend. I usually go on the weekends at 11am or later, there isn't a huge line and service is quick.
Very quaint little coffee shop in Mahtomedi! Coffee is organic and free trade. Good food, yummy sweets, and a lot of different flavors for coffees and teas. Very pleasant atmosphere and outdoor patio. Highly recommended!
My wife and I like to walk down and get our coffee here from time to time. It’s always been great coffee and the staff has been very friendly. I would probably pass on the food options, as it wasn’t anything special.. but nonetheless they are a coffee shop and I feel they do it well!
This place is a Mahtomedi staple. I spend most of my time in coffee shops around the twin cities but time and time again I find myself back at The Wild Bean. Great coffee and food is just one of the reasons this place is great! The super friendly staff and great atmosphere top it off. Highly recommend
My kids and I really love this coffee shop. They go for the mango smoothies and the loud questions about other customers. I love it for the easy walk and the delicious coffee. The staff is always friendly and brightens your day. They have plenty of regulars who must feel the same way.It feels good to support a local business, to show your kids it’s important to do. I’m impressed by the owner who’s doing something big at a young age. We’ll definitely be back!
the staff make you feel like a real human even if you feel like a zombie before the coffee hits. pour over is surprisingly fast and yummy. my hubs is obsessed the raspberry chocolates so i always have to pick one up. nice gift boxes too!
I rarely write a review, but after walking away and taking a sip of the coffee that I just paid $7+ for, I was extremely disappointed!! Something was off and while I kept trying to drink it I finally dumped it out. This is such a bummer because I WANT to like this place. It's a cute coffee shop! The staff are all friendly and I enjoy chatting with them. It's small and local and I like to support places like this!! BUT I wish it had quality coffee...especially for the price you pay. I really hope things can improve because I don't want to give up on this place. I want to see it thrive!! I have hope for it.
2 stars: Location and communityWhy not 5 stars: A few years back it would've been 5 stars, but since new ownership over the last two years, it has slowly gone downhill. The biggest complaint would be paying $35 for four sandwiches, only to find the ciabatta is completely soggy on half and brick hard on the other half... literally inedible.I've talked to the owner and employees *multiple* times about this for years and there has been no resolve. This occurs about 80% of the orders. As much as I love the local place, another concern is cleanliness. With the same gloves, the barista took orders on the register, made coffee, made sandwiches with meat, opened the freezer to get the soggy/hard bread, used the microwave, dug their hand into the chip bag, got a bakery item out of the case, and fixed their hair. Upon leaving, the same gloves were still on.This completely breaks my heart to leave this review because I want to see this place succeed, but management has got to step it up and take initiative. If things change, I'll update the review.
We found this cute little coffee shop and would recommend to anyone. My husband is picky with his chai tea and he said it was the best he'd ever had. My iced americano was fabulous. They have cute, local items for sale inside. The staff is super friendly.
