I wanted to be super impressed...Clean, well lit, and open dining area.Polite & attentive staff as well.I wasn't impressed with the foodArriving i was offered a menu, but told the correct prices were in their online tool.Everything went up...$2‐3 is a little much to me.But a Qt of soup went from $7 up to $12... its just egg in broth! The real story - food was a little hit or miss. The Young Chow Rice - great. Plenty of flavor and ingredients ... Still not a $14 item...The Sesame Chicken, just breading and sauce. No real feature aside from the sauce flavor. (Broccoli was cooked perfectly!)Egg Drop Soup - it needed flavor and really disappointing at @12...I was ready for a $30-35 bill, but $44 to get out the door...Just not in my future I guess.
Bad food and service. Ordered stir fry with pork and the pork tasted grisly and freezer burned. Refused to take back telling me that’s how it’s supposed to taste. No apology and very disrespectful. So meat is supposed to be chewy and dry as leather? Won’t be back again because food is bad and you don’t respect people.
The 2 times I have been here, I received great service. The food is tasty and flavorful, although last I noticed there was too much salt. It was a pleasure talking to the manager, Ger. He was pleasant and took care of us promptly. I will go back when I get a chance.
Several months ago, we read very favorable comments in the St. Paul Pioneer Press about this restaurant. We have been to Asia and have eaten at many Chinese restaurants throughout the years. My husband and I thought the steamed pork dumplings were absolutely delicious. My General Tso chicken was perfection. The chicken was tender and the sauce was very flavorful. I would definitely order that entree again and again. My husband also enjoyed the braised beef in chili sauce. He is used to spicy food but this entree was quite spicy. The rice was also cooked well. We had never tried a Happy Buddha beer and it was very good. Our server was very friendly and checked back several times. The lunch and dinner menus were extensive. The entrees could easily be shared and were reasonably priced. We will definitely return and would highly recommend.
We picked up takeout - couldn’t be more friendly and the food was excellent. We love their egg rolls and Mongolian chicken. Very clean restaurant- next time we might eat there. Right off Snelling is Roseville across from Target so easy for us to pick up. Flavor was so excellent- we will be back.
I recommend this restaurant! The moo shu pork was very tasty. The pancakes were super thin and held up well to plum sauce and cabbage, mushrooms, egg and pork. We also shared an order of fried pork dumplings. We just got 1 order of each item and it was plenty of food for 2 people. I did order an extra portion of plum sauce at the reasonable price of $1. Plenty of parking. Online ordering takeout was easy with ChowNow. Convenient location kitty corner from Har Mar off of Snelling.
This place is a hidden gem. tucked in a strip mall, we have been driving past this place for 12 years. googled for something near us for a late lunch when we were out and about today and found them. the clean and calm atmosphere was only toped by how great the food was and how friendly our host was. safe, clean , friendly and delicious. We talked about how good the food was all the way home. I think we just found our new favorite place.....also love that it is family style.
I came here twice in my life. First time was great! Good food at a reasonable priceSecond time was pain! I was supposed to get my order at 5:30 but I didn’t receive my food until 6:45 and they missed one dish. If you want cheap American Chinese food then go to fresh new wok 5 mins away. If you want better and good Chinese food just go to umn
Been a repeat customer for years, most likely not going back. When my family first discovered this place, it was a huge hit. They've always been known to have slightly saltier dishes, but it wasn't bad. I went again earlier this week and almost everything was overly salty, seemed like a new cook in the kitchen. The green beans and boiled beef were unbearably salty and my beef short ribs were undercooked. How do you mess up green beans? And I can handle my beef pretty rare, but not the fat, yuck, the ribs really weren't lean enough for that. It seems management may have changed. Food was disappointing.
Some American versions of dishes, but also some authentic Chinese dishes. Good family style place. Serves alcohol and dessert. The best of nearby casual Asian cuisine.
