As an engineer, I appreciate the “scientific” vibe of the menu and decorations. They have a variety of vegan and gluten-free options, and their ice cream tastes good (not “omg” good though!). Nice sitting area outside of their store in the beautiful 50th and France block. Overall, it’s definitely worth trying once, and even more if you live or work nearby.
If you’re in the Edina area then this place is a must try!! I got the flight which is 5 different flavors and it’s perfect for those that can’t make up their mind and want to try a bunch of them. This can also be shared with a few others too. There are no seating inside but plenty of seating area outside! Free 3 hour parking ramp attached.
Two things I love about this place: portion size options and flavors! Their flavor options are unique while also appealing to anyone. Also loved the vegan options and the seasonal menu. I got their cayenne caramel brownie and the vanilla mint fudge and both were so good. I’m not usually a caramel fan but was so happy I got it. Definitely a good way to top off a delicious dinner in the Edina neighborhood.
Solid ice-cream performance with straightforward but excellent flavors. Nice and creamy and never too sweet, I'd put them in the top 5 ice cream shops in the twin cities. Worth the trip. Try their Carmel or berry options!
Off the charts AWESOME ice cream!! My wife and I enjoyed some of the best ice cream ever here at Sweet Science Ice Cream! The only downside, if there really was one, is that the location seems a bit hidden, in fact we almost drove by without noticing, but thankfully there was a sidewalk board sign pointing the way to the shop. The ice cream shop is located in a very beautiful part of Edina amongst a number of quaint boutique shops. Great outdoor patio space to sit outside and enjoy each succulent bite of ice cream. The shop itself is clean, bright, modern, and a really cool ice cream shop. Great customer service. We would highly recommend ordering "the Flight" which is 5 small scoops of 5 different flavors of ice cream and sorbet, scoops that are larger than just a sample size but smaller than a single scoop. We felt the best bang for your buck and the chance to try five of their many flavors to choose from. And yes, there are a lot of flavors to choose from, which is a challenge because they are all so very good. We ordered the dark chocolate sorbet, peanut butter and chocolate cookie, slated caramel swirl, rhubarb/cinnamin/almond, and the strawberry marscapone. All flavors were to die for. They pride themselves on all natural ingredients which is supposed to make the flavors all the more flavorful, and they are so right! This ice cream is one of, if not the best in the Twin Cities. I can't wait to go back again!!
This place is great in almost every way. There are interesting ice cream flavors that rotate, some seasonally, it tastes fantastic and the staff actually give you useful information (I asked for suggestions since it was my first time there and they picked out a few popular items and ones that were their personal favorites - exactly the kind of insight I wanted). They also have compostable cutlery and cups. And I was pleasantly surprised to find stainless steel tasting spoons. Seating is a bit limited. But there's still space for about 8 people to sit and eat I think. With some standing room to spare. I had their cayenne caramel brownie which was stellar. They also do $13 "flights" of ice cream if you'd like to try several. I wish there was a note at the entrance that flights were an option. You had to walk a lot further in to see the sign saying that they do that.Overall, super happy with this place. Definitely will come again. Kudos to the great staff!
This might be the best I’ve cream shop in the city. First of all, they have the best waffle cone I’ve ever eaten. It’s difficult to describe, but it tastes like a mix between an actual waffle and a graham cracker. Next, their ice cream flavors are wonderful. The chocolate brownie is amazing, and the raspberry cheesecake is one of the best ice cream flavors I’ve ever tasted. Lastly, the employees are super friendly! Love this place.
Good god, I know it's Edina but the prices are insane. $4 for the smallest cone offering up to $9 for a double scoop.I can't justify ever coming back.Good tasting ice cream but DQ is just as good in my opinion.
Hi first of all sweet science does in part have amazing ice cream! No insulting that. However my visits with the employees have been harmful both times. Whether it was rude behavior or cold service. Most recently when my girlfriend and I walked in the boy and the girl started laughing at us. It was very obviously because we were not wearing our masks. Which we would have been happy too but there was no signage of any type showing that it was required or even recommended. As we got poor .customer service while picking up our ice cream as we left we over heard the female employee calling us “trashy” and the male employee remarked “you can always tell”. I don’t think this is any way to treat a customer I know there is a lot of division with Covid but if your business doesn’t require it or recommend shouldn’t it be optional? Very sad to see this kind of behavior I hope management can address this
Wonderful ice cream and service! Sweet Science has quickly become a favorite. After inquiring if the shop was still selling a rotating flavor, the owner quickly responded letting me know it was still being sold in pints in the shop’s freezer. Better yet, remembering my interest and excitement, she reached out weeks later to let me know the flavor was back in the shop- so thoughtful! I was a fan before, even more so now!!
