I took my husband here for his birthday The sushi he said was wonderful and I enjoyed the food that I got which was thin sliced ribeye with cabbage. It was excellent and the employees were very very kind we will be back at some point

Staff was great! Helpful and friendly, they worked as a team covering for each other. Shrimp tempura roll and salmon rolls good but small. Loved the calamari, and spicy mayo dressing had a great taste, and not too spicy. Was very surprised at how few people were there, the community has not embraced the restaurant. Should be a message to management! Find out what patrons want and what they think about Sakura.
Only place in the Twin Cities you can get sukiyaki and theirs is great.
The restaurant sign on the corner of the building got our attention when we were trying to look for a place for an early dinner on a Saturday evening. The servers were very friendly and we were seated very quickly. It felt like a very down to earth place. Despite having a fair number of customers, it was quiet enough to carry on conversation and hear each other without any problem. 3 of us (including myself) had the combination beef teriyaki and shrimp tempura. For this kind of dish, it was the best beef I've had in memory. Perfectly medium rare and very tender. The teriyaki itself was also very good. The expert Japanese food eaters at my table also enjoyed their dinners. The presentation as well as the flavors were excellent and we all agreed this was a great choice. If I lived here, I would come back.
This restaurant has an interesting vibe. Super service - our server was extremely fast and brought out everything in a timely manner. The rolls were yummy and tasted very fresh.
Okay, late review but I love this restaurant, it was my first time here with my friends and the service and food was outstanding. I loved their drinks and sushi rolls. The price is a little high but it's understandable for it's location and for the quality of the food. I'll definitely be recommending this place to others.
Kind of a hidden gem in downtown St. Paul. My first visit and will definitely be back. We were well taken care of and the menu is really diverse. I tried many new things I hadn't before.
The food is always consistently delicious and the drink specials are tasty. My roommates always order a sushi roll with their dinner and rave about how good they are. Sakura is a must go-to location for me, my friends and family. Love, love love it.
