Meh. Don't understand the hype. The food was fairly simple - not in a good way. No complex flavors, and nothing I couldn't cook at home - beef roast, chewy duck with an orange sauce, fried potatoes. The service was only okay. Drinks and food were v. slow to be served. Prices are WAY too high for what you get. And it's too crowded. As many others have said, Myriel could greatly improve a diner's experience by removing a couple tables. Aside from still being in a pandemic, there's way too much squishing. A larger person next to us could barely fit behind the table and made a big to-do about it.So many better restaurants out there. Don't waste your time (or money) on this place.

A pleasant dinner here with a friend. I like the concept of fresh, local foods and our server was attentive and helpful. Portions are small so we ordered many items. They were all nice enough but a little bland for my taste and nothing I'd go out of my way to eat again. My friend ended up with several take out boxes of leftovers. I usually bring home dessert for my partner but they didn't have anything that would travel well so I headed home empty handed.

Myriel, the intimate small plates restaurant from Chef Karyn Tomlinson, offers up exquisitely composed bites featuring local and seasonal ingredients. We opted for the a la carte dining option, and started our meal with some of the house baked bread as well as a green salad and carrot soup. While each of these dishes present as simple and straightforward, small touches elevate each of them to delight your pallet. The duck breast was cooked to perfection and featured a flavorful orange sauce, and the spicy lamb sausage was balanced with a beautiful pile of tender white beans. While everything we ate at Myriel was excellent, the standout dish had to be the apple pie. Tomlinson is known for her skills as a pastry chef and this dessert did not disappoint. Buttery, flaky pie crust encased a filling of warm, rich apple filling, which was all topped with a scoop of homemade ice cream. The precision of execution at Myriel is enough to elevate simple dishes like bread or apple pie to something exceptional. It’s also worth mentioning that the wine list here is phenomenal and accessibly priced, with only 2 bottles costing more than $100.If you’re looking for a small, intimate restaurant with seasonal small bites and knowledgeable, attentive service, look no further than Myriel.

We were finally able to get a reservation, and it didn't disappoint! From the moment we walked in, the servers were attentive, even if they weren't the server assigned to our table. They did an excellent job seamlessly switching out everything between courses, but not in a way that made us feel rushed.Yes the portions are small, but we left happy full with excellent flavors! The space is intended for smaller parties (most of the tables seat 2, with a few 4), and a great space for a date night! The only downside, us we wished they would post the menu on their website ahead of time so we could have a better idea of what we were getting ourselves into, but we were so happy with every element. Sometimes a surprise us good :)

Chef Karyn never disappoints. Best duck in the twin cities. Our server was super knowledgeable with wines and after dinner drinks. Her recommendations were great. We ordered off the ala carte menu. We are looking forward to coming back for her tasting menu. You can tell there is so much heart and soul in this restaurant.

Had the tasting menu here and it was awesome. The Sunchoke soup alone with a drizzle of duck fat and toasted buckwheat was astonishing. Every dish took a moment for my brain to resolve the flavors and textures. I'd say it is good to eat a bite then wait a minute or two before taking another as the second bite then becomes both familiar and new. It's exactly what I love about tasting menus, bold, unexpected, surprising and adventurous. Service was stellar! I loved every moment! Lastly our meals were prepared gf and df (we said ok to butter as we can tolerate it)

Absolute perfection. We were so sad when Corner Table closed but even more excited when we heard about Myriel! We were lucky to be there on opening night and have been twice since! And no doubt we will be back again and again. The service. The food. The atmosphere. AMAZING.

Fresh, inventive, local fare, expertly prepared. Lots of options for all dietary preferences. High service standard. Service was informed, friendly and extremely competent. I'm impressed. Reminds me of everything I loved about the original Heartland. Highly recommended.

I'm an not sure what the fuss is about this restaurant. Everything was fine, not great, but it is way overpriced for what you get. Three lamb meatball dish is 3 small meatballs in a tomato sauce for $25. The duck breast is 5 small medallions of duck breast, maybe 3oz total, in a sauce, again $25. It's just the meat, no veg or starch or anything. That is extra.Everything was fine, nothing was great, way overpriced.Giving it 3 stars because the service was good.Go to Estelle instead, it will knock your socks off.

Had dinner here on Saturday night. Place was packed, and for good reason. The food was amazing - the duck was off the charts! And the Gnochi was terriffic - get it with a poached egg on top. But beyond the food it was the mood of the place and the wait staff that set it apart. My wife and I go to dinner often - this was a special experience. Just so damn good. Thank Christine for your awesome suggestions and attention. Outstanding! We will be back.
