CHERYL-CHERYL-CHERYL. We had a large group and our server Cheryl made the evening a big hit. She has to be the best server in the world. She should teach classes on the profession. Fettuccine Alfredo with chicken fabulous. Great atmosphere. Will definitely be back.
Can’t say enough good things about our experience at La Grolla last night. We are from out of state and were in MN celebrating our son’s college graduation. We had made reservations but we still had to wait an hour longer for our table. The place was packed and as time kept ticking we were beginning to wonder what kind of night we were going to have. But then we met our Zach our waiter. His friendly service and knowledge about the menu was amazing and he went over and above compensating for our wait by providing free appetizers. The food was amazing, (worth the wait), the ambience was perfect, but it was the service that makes us want to come back again. Thank you Zach for a great night for our family.
We ate at La Grolla last night. I have eaten there before and as always the food is wonderful. Love the cozy atmosphere. Just have to mention how great our server was also. I don't know her name, but she said this was not her full time job. She did this for fun! She is trying to save money for traveling now that she has raised her children and they have successfully launched into their own lives! She was probably the best, most friendly, considerate, efficient server I have ever had anywhere. So, just wanted to give a shout out to her for making our meal experience so great. The experience of eating at La Grolla is great already, she just made it even better!?
We all had a nice time at the restaurant. It was busy for a Saturday evening and normally it would feel cozy, however with Covid I was a bit surprised with how many guests were sitting so close together in a relatively small space. They did check our Covid which made it better. Everyone enjoyed their dishes. However, mine had too many tomato pieces and I had asked for less or no tomatoes. The shrimp in the dish was good and so were the olives and spaghetti. This is my second time to the restaurant and I think if we go again I’ll order something without any tomatoes because I notice their dishes come out with an abundance. Service was excellent.
Delicious! The service was wonderful, the place is packed, and the food was amazing! We ordered the scallop appetizer (OMG! So good and so much scallop!) as well as the bruschetta with fresh mozzarella (very tasty). I had the beet salad and gnocchi (very light and refreshing) my husband had lasagna (just like grandma used to make). Everything was fresh and well seasoned. The lava cake, while not on the menu, was a favorite!
Super cute, warm, inviting environment right from the entrance. The service was incredible starting with the host and the server was unbelievably funny, kind, helpful, and entertaining. I started with the beet salad and it was so delicious and then had the salmon, which was also fantastic. The fish of the day was really good, too. It tasted a lot like the salmon. There is a huge wine selection and some wines are offered by the glass while others are only offered by the bottle. I really enjoyed the featured Cabernet Sauvignon. I cannot wait to return and try more dishes.
My favorite Italian restaurant in all of Minnesota! Our waitress Maricella was the best for me birthday lunch. We closed the place. It was the best 55th birthday because of Maricella and La Grolla!
We made reservations weeks in advance and still got seated in the crowded bar area, with the tables practically touching each other. The service was subpar--the server was very distracted and more concerned about other tables. We asked for a salad recommendation and her suggestion was so bad that we barely touched it, in addition to it arriving after the entrees. The entrees were okay, but didn't really warrant the high prices. The creme brulee was also unimpressive. Sorry, but will not be returning.
Took the wife to La Grolla for our anniversary. Good thing we made a reservation, as even in COVID times it was busy! Nice atmosphere. The calamari was tender, with a nice thin crust; it could have used some seasoning, but there were no salt shakers on the table. Loved the barbabietola pomodoro salad - beets with greens, hearts of palm, blue cheese, walnuts. This was the best dish we had all night. Wife had linguini in a white sauce with shrimp. The shrimp were very good - meaty and tasty - and the serving size was generous. I had the ravioli di granchio (“Homemade large ravioli stuffed with stone crab and shrimp in a creamy lobster sauce”) which was a little disappointing. The sauce was heavenly, but the ravioli pasta was thick and a little rubbery; if this is their version of al dente, it’s not to my liking. I expect freshly made pasta (as it was labeled on the menu) to be more delicate and tender. This texture was more like boiled frozen ravioli you get at the grocery store. And the “crab and shrimp” contents were mostly ricotta; I didn’t detect much seafood. The service was good and speedy, although we never felt rushed. There were small bread plates on the table with olio, but the bread never appeared. The wine was reasonably priced. We’ll probably be back at some point, but I may skip the pasta next time.
My father and I move this restaurant! Great portions, amazing flavors. Service is always prompt. Bread is soooooo tasty too! We come here about once a month. Hope you enjoy it as much as we do. Haven’t tried dessert yet! Hopefully soon.
