Don’t leave many reviews, but my first experience was not a good one. Good itself was fine, but maybe only come here if you need to slowly introduce people to Japanese food. More of a fusion place with unique ideas. What really killed my experience was the service. I’m one of the most patient around, but the service was just awful. Probably the worst I have had in years. Was greeted at the door with minimal enthusiasm, food took forever to arrive (even just for gyoza) and nobody really seemed like the cared to be there. There wasn’t even that many people there either. Could have been a bad night, but I won’t go back willingly unless Im out voted with a group.
very cute place and the food was good but portions are really small for the price. the yakisoba was too salty for me and the portion was way too small, probably the size of a man's fist. the ebi maki roll was just too small for the price.
Paid $17 for a a finger of whisky but it was definitely more like a teaspoon of whisky. Had sushi and onigiri and the rice was dry and hardly seasoned at all. Paid $13 for a 6 piece maki roll that Target could've done just as well. Everything was way too expensive and the food was not nearly worth the price.
Fresh and delicious food, great menu, amazing service.
Delicous local Japanese restaurant with a focus on various sushi and sashimi types as well as an extensive Japanese drinks menu.Great vibe for a date night or just to casually enjoy some amazing fresh sushi! The Hamachi roll was delish but the Pressed Sushi is definitely worth trying. I can't say I've ever had that but its worth the flavor.Their cocktails, also phenom. They have everything from Japanese whiskeys, to sake to local beer but our favorite was their Sweet Plum whiskey cocktail (seasonal) and Kyatchi 75
Chef Z is very passionate about his craft. I appreciate his hospitality and his efforts to make every bite amazing. He presented me a nigiri dish that wasn’t on his menu which consisted of Marinated Beet king salmon. Fatty and absolutely amazing. Melts in your mouth. Savory and delicious.Thank you Chef Z. I will be making this my new go to sushi spot.
It was my first time in Minneapolis and especially cold when I drove over here and wandered in. The man at the door was really professional and courteous. The orange dream cocktail was tasty and had a lovely presentation. The atmosphere of the restaurant was also very soothing. The tonkatsu was really remarkable. I loved it. It was simple but delicious and really better without the sauce. If I'm back in town I would go out of my way to revisit.
Very cozy and intimate. Went here with my partner to celebrate an occasion and everything was phenomenal. I swear I had a religious experience with some sashimi. I had ramen, kara-age chicken, and Binsho sashimi. I would not have changed a single thing. The server was patient with our ignorance of certain sushi terms and attentive even as the restaurant filled. The other thing I adore about this place is that they removed tipping from their service completely and incorporated a 19% service charge right into the menu prices so that their staff can earl a livable wage not subject to the whimsy of total strangers. It’s nice that it’s in the menu prices ensuring there’s no bill shock at the end either.Loved my experience and will absolutely return. Would give more than 5 stars if Google wasn’t so stingy.
from a person with a lot of food allergies, intolerances & sensitivities: kyatchi was pretty easy to navigate and I was able to find lots of items on the menu that I could tolerate. And everything was incredibly fresh. My partner who was previously a sushi chef said the rice balanced, the fish was fresh, the seaweed salad was perfect! pretty good experience and friendly service.
One of my favorite sushi places in the twin cities. I will absolutely be going back. The presentation of the food was above and beyond. There is something for every price scale to eat here. The sushi and fish itself you can taste the quality. The service was amazing as well. I love how this hits a balance between homey and upscale. They even have plenty of vegan and vegetarian options!
