Love this place. Breakfast was excellent, perfect eggs, hash browns with my (favorite) Hollandaise sauce. I’ll return soon and try the dinner menu. Very clean, friendly and I parked right out front.

While the staff was friendly and attentive and the atmosphere was pleasant, the food wasn't prepared as anticipated. The eggs Benedict was over cooked, English muffin was dry, hollandaise sauce was sparse and tart, and the beyond sausage was tough. We requested well done hash browns for both dishes and received standard. Overall the quality of the food was good and filling, just the preparation was lacking. I would be open to trying it again in the future.

I was here on 5/26. I haven’t gotten around to leaving a review until just now.My server was not great. She was friendly with those around me, but not me for some reason. The food was okay. I asked for over easy eggs and they were too well done. My toast was burnt. When I was finished and ready to settle my check, my server kept walking by and looking at me. It was so awkward! When it was time to pay, I had to select the tip amount right on the device in her hands. She ended up getting just a little more than she actually deserved for her bad service. I had high hopes for this place and wanted to support a local business, but I’ll never go back as I did not feel welcome.

Still thinking about this place days later. Highland Grill is awesome. The food was top-notch, the ambience was warm and inviting, and the staff were very friendly. With reasonable prices and broad menu, you can’t go wrong here.I got the Hot Hash and Holly and chicken wings when we went on a Sunday morning. It was a lot of food. The chicken wings are some of the best I’ve had; they were crispy, flavorful, and well presented. The hollandaise that they make here and serve with the eggs benedicts is amazing—buttery and tangy. The english muffins also stood out. They were fluffy and tasted homemade. The point of me saying all this is I think they do a quality job here from ingredients to execution. Everything was noticeably delicious and plated with care.As a Blue Plate restaurant they do an fine job when it comes to hospitality and good practices. It showed in the attentiveness we got from their staff. They also have a date night deal that sparked our curiosity.Overall, my experience at Highland Grill easily gets 5 stars. I left feeling full and happy and couldn’t ask for much more.It started getting pretty busy as we finished up around 10am, so I would say the earlier you go the better. Can’t wait to go back and try more of their menu someday.

I'm saying 5 stars.Always liked this restaurant. The pricing is getting to the point where a family of 4 is spending about 83.00 for breakfast.I wonder if the days of going out to breakfast as a family are coming to an end because of the cost.

Our early lunch at the Highland Grill was great. All of our selections were very good, and we had a friendly and helpful waiter. Our selections included a cup of tomato basil soup ($4.95), the Brussel Sprouts appetizer ($11.95), and Pierogies ($9.95). There is a 4% employee wellness charge added to the bill. Overall, it was an excellent place for our lunch outing.

Great local place in a fun little business district. Being from Houston, I tried the steak and pierogies. Everything was cooked perfectly. Service was friendly and efficient. Nice upscale diner atmosphere.

Cozy atmosphere, reasonable prices and amazing food. I had fish and chips and it was delicious. Super crispy and tasty fries and nicely seasoned fish. I also got a fresh orange juice. They make it right there for you.

My buddy and I were in the Twin Cities for the Twins game and playing baseball on Sunday. Looking for a place for breakfast, I used the Google and found Highland Grill less than 4 miles away. We get there and the place looks great. The hostess asked if we had a reservation which we didn't. She still gave us a booth and the server brought us coffee right away. So many options on the menu, but we both chose the special on the chalkboard.Good stuff there. Hashbrowns were nice and golden. Joe's Special was scrambled eggs with chunks of turkey sausage with caramelized onions and fresh spinach. Maybe a pinch of cheese in there too.The ambiance is nice and homey. Highly recommend Highland Grill in St Paul!!!

Had a great experience on our first visit to this restaurant on date night Tuesday where they have a special $50 deal for two on appetizers, entrees and dessert. The food tasted great and the service was friendly and prompt. The Brussels sprouts appetizer had a nice topping like goat cream cheese or something. I didn't think to ask what it was, but it was good. We had the carrot cake for dessert and were pleased to see it came with caramel drizzled on it.
