I hadn't been here in years, it used to be 5 stars, but moving to 3 stars. The wings were missing the delicious dredge of seasoning, and were really just fried chicken wings. Sides still delicious, but I'm not as excited as I used to be to make a 30 min drive for the food. Probably won't be on my list of "must-haves" anymore.
I've been driving by this place for a couple of years and had the thought that it looks like one of those spectacular hole in the wall Barbecue joints. It's just so-so. What's good is that the portions are ample. I ordered the 1/4 Chicken, dark meat and they gave me 2 whole legs and thighs. The Mild sauce was okay, not great. They gave me a lot of fries, but they weren't fully cooked and had way too much salt. The Cole Slaw was runny. It didn't taste bad, but it was just unappealing. The service was very good. The inside was very clean and the A/C was good on a hot day. My romantic notions were dashed. But despite my unrealistic expectations, I won't return.
they have awesome local fountain soda! seasoning on wings and fries taste bomb.
Stopped in for lunch today and was surprised at how quickly we were able to get served. We both ordered the 4 wing dinner. The wings were huge and cooked perfectly. Will definitely be back again.
Awesome place for takeout when you want something Hickory. Order is always ready if ordered 10 minutes upon arriving. Friendly staff. However a bit on the high end for cost.
I see they have a new owner which probably explains it all. I placed my order lady tells me 15 minutes call me back 10 minutes later to tell me they do not any pork ribs only tips . I asked it she could discount the tip for the inconvenience she told me that it was nothing she could do about it lol. You could have you just chose not to. You are suppose to be a restaurant you should not be running out of food and if it inconvenience a customer they should not have to pay for it. The meal should have been free, I just asked for a discount. This was probably they same lady that tried to give me half off when my ribs was smelling sour. Definitely a joke!
Ordered a beef hot link sandwich and this is what I got. Literally one small piece of toast and two large bratwurst. Bratwurst and hot links, I suppose, could be synonymous but the bratwurst was gross and not the slightest but of spice. MOST IMPORTANTLY, sandwich absolutely implies a minimum of two slices of bread. Always. Every time. I received one slice for both massive links.I also ordered a pizza puff which was pretty good and I would have given two stars for that but when I called to express my grievance the staff were so rude. Don't waste your time or money.Definitely did not live up to the hype.
Do not go here! There are new owners that do not know what they're doing and have ruined the original recipe to this place. The food is nasty. The chicken wings are smaller and cost almost twice as muchVery disappointed. Like a lot of other people I have been coming here for years. This has been a staple for the best barbecue and chicken wings. Not anymore
I don’t know if it is because I order late evening .. 30 minutes before they close but honey it didn’t give what C I thought it was going to give. I’m actually a lil disappointed because of the name , you should expect amazing fresh bbq but it wasn’t . Mac and cheese was blend . Baked beans was good but no beans in it really . But i see potential so they get 3 stars .
Nothing special. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. It's not trying to compete with the Handsome Hog, so I respect the no-frills vibe. It's just that I've had better at other spots, so 3 stars is the best I'll give (maybe 3.5).
