Enjoyed all the items we tried. Servers were friendly and quick. Our favorite was the flappers.
Great service and delicious food. Aurora was able to help me salvage a Sunday brunch with my son that was nearly ruined by my forgetfulness. They have a wide range of options, which makes this a good location for a gathering of people who all want something different. Unlike the big chains that have lots of options, it is clear that everything made here is made with the care and attention it deserves. The food I have gotten here is lacking salt in my opinion, but that allows the flexibility to salt to your own preferences.Kid-friendliness: Instead of cheap crayons, they provided wikki stix, which is now my son's new favorite toy. Far less messy than crayons too.The kids meal options are generously portioned, so even larger kids should be fully satisfied by them.
We had a pleasant breakfast at the Colossal Cafe. You order at the register and your food is brought to the table. The service was okay but limited. We had the Greek Frittatas ($13.00) and the Colossal Breakfast Lite ($6.00). Coffee was $3.50.
We were visiting the Twin Cities for back to the 50's car show. The place was bustling because it was Father's day. There is no easy parking, so plan accordingly. Might get road side parking if you get lucky. The food was good. The Frittatas we're delicious and so was the colossal breakfast. I think the hash brown could've been made better. Pancakes were awesome and everyone should try this. Service was a bit slow, perhaps because of the number of people.
The place:Deli counter vibes. Cozy, the line hits the door pretty easily. When you go, you get a table name from the host. They’ll put your table name on your assigned table, then you stay in line to order off the generous menu. There’s plenty to see in the bakery display, feast your eyes (before feasting your face) on the enormous cinnamon rolls. The location:Walkable area, lots of street parking in front and around the corner. The food:Delicious. There’s a good amount of vegetarian options, both sweet and savory. I was tempted by the Greek frittata and the weekend special (a breakfast sandwich with goat cheese, tomatoes, egg, and something else I can’t remember).I got the veggie chorizo bowl which came with rice, veggies, two salsas, and eggs. Great flavor, came out piping hot. Would definitely get it again. The service:Delightful. Everyone knew their stuff and kept the line moving.Next time:I might need to get a mimosa and roll a die for something to eat because anything looks good.
Breakfast here was fantastic. I had the biscuits with mushroom gravy and I was surprised. I don't normally have biscuits and gravy but I felt adventurous and ordered some here. The umami from the mushrooms was delightful and was present in the gravy itself while the biscuits took on an almost scone-like texture (in a good way) with the buttery and floury flavor that is expected of a biscuit. It worked beautifully and will definitely order again. The plate is enough to fill you up but I foolishly ordered a side of hash browns (which I didn't get to) and some yogurt and granola. The granola was really well made with plenty of flavor and the berries were at their peak. Overall it was one of the best breakfast experiences I've had in a while and highly recommend.
The food was very good and they handled a warm weather and very crowded day pretty well. I had an omelette and my daughter had pancakes. Both were very good. I’d go again.
I cannot speak highly enough of our Easter brunch this morning from Colossal Cafe. It was perfection and made our holiday so easy. Everything was delicious - there wasn’t a single dish that I wouldn’t order again. We got the egg bake with peas and leeks, scalloped potatoes, veggie pot pie, biscuits with strawberry jam, monkey bread and a cinnamon roll. All of this cost only $66 and fed five hungry people, and we have a lot of leftovers. Plus, everything was perfectly par baked so that it all took thirty minutes at the same temperature in the oven. It was so easy and straightforward. No waking up early, no trying to juggle different times or oven temperatures, and absolute perfection in every dish. The monkey bread especially was devoured in less than 90 seconds. I also really appreciated the many vegetarian options. The pot pie was very robust - and look at that crust! The biscuits and homemade jam were a treat. I wish I had taken more photos before everything was obliterated. I don’t know why I would ever cook my own Easter brunch when Colossal can do it for me (and at $13 per person). Thank you, Colossal Cafe!! Can’t wait for next year.
Staff was very friendly, courteous, and efficient. Eggs Benedict was great, so was my salad. Quaint little café.
Food was fantastic 10/10! The homemade biscuits were to die for!! Great service, and a great brunch spot with friends.
