Absolutely terrible! Who makes Huevos rancheros with scrambled runny eggs. It was the worst breakfast I ever seen. What a complete waste of money. They even forgot my sausage links.
FAVE breakfast place in TC!! Been coming here for 7+ years now, and never had a bad plate nor poor or unfriendly service!! Good for groups, particularly due to the Mexican/American split in breakfast and lunch options. I’ve always ordered breakfast, and w everything I’ve tried being so repeat-worthy, I’ve never thought to venture to lunch!!)—both sides being so delicious. I often have to order Huevos Rancheros (so much food!) and still need to order a second breakfast as well, because OF COURSE, I need something sweet — fave being banana chocolate chip pancakes. Cannot recommend this place enough. Totally underrated, does good take out business with menu too.
My new favorite breakfast place! I have been to all the great spots in the Twin Cities metro area and this is the best menu I have seen. Food is EGGS-ELENT, prices are nice, and staff is great!

Fast service and decent food but I did have to repeat my entire order twice to the server. I asked for a toasted muffin and it was just microwaved. Not a huge deal but they were not busy and it wasn’t loud or noisy.
This place was great! My old man and I gave this place an opportunity and it didn't fail. It was definitely an awesome experience. Staff was kind and generous. Food was fantastic. The cafe itself was coozy. I am going to be coming here a lot more. Places like this deserve all the props it can get. Good job Capital View Cafe!
This is the second time I've eaten here and both times it was amazing. The service is fantastic as well. You can tell they truly care about their customers. I will definitely be back.
Someone at a local hotel suggested this place, and I am so glad! We took family from out of town here, and they were disappointed they weren't able to eat here every day they were here. We feel fortunate that we can come back, now that we've found this little gem. Delicious food, several Mexican twist choices, overall can't go wrong, and will leave more than satisfied. Great for all ages and all size parties.
Usually a good place for breakfast. Not sure if chef had a bad day, but other than the eggs, the rice was clumped together like they were leftovers and the beans were tasteless and cold. Not much flavor to the salsa. And why waste salad fixings and add them to a breakfast plate. Could never figure that out. We'll be back, but not for a long time. Hopefully next time it'll be better.
I ordered take out. I had the everything omelet, fried potatoes and cinnamon raisin toast. The omelet was good. The toast was burnt and the potatoes had good flavor but over cooked as well. My husband had the bone in ham. Very big and juicy. Shredded hash brown which was burnt as well. The eggs were fine. Overall, I can give them another try. It maybe better the next time.
