No matter what or who is playing, this place always slams. The sound quality is always amazing, the bartenders are always quick and in a great mood, the food is great and simple. If I see a show at the Amsterdam, I know it'll be a good time. Smoking patio is a welcome respite for between sets.
I went here for a concert, staff was really nice & respectful. Some guests got a little out of hand (it was a metal concert, understandable) but nothing major. Amazing speakers and lighting system, definitely a good place to go for a bar and music ❤
Amazing venue! Great bar. Goodness sakes are the drummies here fantastic! So crispy, lots of meat on the bone. The order is a basket of 5 drummies, 1 cup of gravy!, and 1 cup of sweet and sour sauce(I think). Fantastic! Went there for a live show of a podcast, and the audio quality was one of the best that this podcast has visited.And the bathrooms! Door to the left and door to the right is for humans. You go into via either of these doors into the communal sink area. Each washroom then has the stalls with toilets, 2 of 3(in each washroom) is ada compliant, with a diaper changing station included! Very similar to the washrooms in the Amsterdam Airport (shipol).Once entrance, for events, has an entrance ramp, but I didn't even think to look for assisted open doors since the line was out the door...Great spot, will return!
Really cool atmosphere and a great staff. I didn't get any of the food, but they had a good selection of beers. The sound was great in the venue portion. Clean bathrooms, and the bartender had a great memory.

Loved this style of venue for more of a chill night!! Drinks were strong but good and the food was amazing for being a music venue it blew away my expectations. Would love to come back.
The Moth story slam filled the venue and was a terrific event. However the venue is so-so for me. Most seating was theater style on folding chairs. All stage views are good. Food and drink can get busy and backed up. They have a great list of Belgian styles on tap, which brings me joy. But they serve it in plastic cups which brings me significantly less joy. Their burgers are more like sliders but cost like a steak. Overall a bit grungy and dingy, which makes for a good rock club I guess. If it weren’t for their terrific programming I’d likely wander past.
Got invited to a metal concert last minute by my girlfriend,really great place. My 3ed time there,Saw Wensday 13 a few years back,then Cattle Decapitation & Suffocation,always a great venue ! The show was wild with lots of moshing,even a wall of death. Great sound! The floor is very spacious so lots of room,saw some crowd surfing but the staff handled everything well. The bartender was very friendly and attentive, making sure we were taken care of. Will be back again for another concert in the future !
Although the food was good, my friends and I received really rude service from one waitress in particular. When my friends’ order didn’t arrive she argued that they were lying to try to get free food. Later, when I asked politely for a glass of water the same waitress replied with “you know if you keep your glass you don’t need to keep asking me. This is like the fourth time I’ve given you one.” I had asked for a glass an hour earlier and it was cleared from my table when I went to watch the show…. Would like to see the full potential of the Amsterdam realized by improving the service ☮️
Was super excited to go see Scary kids Scaring kids tour here, before I bought tickets the Mandate for having a vaccination in Minneapolis and St Paul was lifted. I called the Venue to MAKE SURE this was true and the person on the other line responded with "The Mandate is over so NO." Now fast forward to the event I arrive excited with my girlfriend for her Birthday and before we get in, NOTHING is posted on the door besides mask required and we get asked by the staff to show proof of vaccination which we obviously didnt and kick us out.. Extremely rude staff. Never updated their website after the mandate cancelation and misinformed by staff. This Venue is not trustworthy.
