Have eaten at many Portillos and this one was not the best. Combo didn’t have much beef on it, and neither did the big beef. Fries were hot and strawberry malt was good.
The food selection is nice, especially if you love burgers and hotdogs. The dessert menu is nice too. The staff is friendly. The food tastes decent. The bathrooms are clean. Somehow I feel stuck at a 3/5 for this place.Even though I said I was dining in, the food was very tightly wrapped to go style in brown bags. I had to unwrap everything to add ketchup, etc. I had a hot dog and a cheeseburger. They were filling but left me unimpressed. Some of the negatives. No wi fi!!! The bathrooms are on the upper floor, and they closed the stairwell early, so I had to use an elevator every time I needed to wash my hands. With this food, it was very messy. Also, the soda menu was very minimal. This might be a fun place to bring a family or a bunch of kids after a game, but when flying solo, it was too much work for too little benefit.
Portillo’s was a very nice place for lunch. The food and service was excellent. Clean facility with a variety of food selections. Those of you who are from the Windy City, Chi-town, Chicago will love their Italian beef sandwiches and hot dogs!!! So if your feel like some nostalgia and good food stop in and grab a bite to eat!!
Hot dogs aren't my thing, so I got the bacon cheeseburger. It was great, the nice taste of the charbroil flavore really made me want to go and BBQ. The atmosphere really is Chicago-like, jazz music and the restaurant is set up like it too. The tastiest thing though, was that Chocolate Cake Shake! Fantastic shake that had the cake in it! Yum! Gotta go at least once to try that shake!
Pretty slow, took 9minutes to get my chili dog &onion rings.Food is very average & little expensive
Polish sausage was awesome. Gotta try more menu items. The burgers looked nice and messy. Cool atmosphere inside and plenty of staff to get your food quickly.
Italian sausage, italian beef (Or combo), chocolate sahake cake and chicken salad are the best.
The inside dining was great! Enjoyed the service from "number 39, time to dine" to a friendly quick person to cleaned our table. We had hot and fresh roast beef sandwiches and fries. The chocolate covered strawberry shake was a big hit. My wife and I loved the music and scenery. One trouble spot is the location. It's on Rosedale Mall corner and was difficult to enter and park..
Amazing establishment. The environment is fun and laid back, the staff are focused and serious yet helpful and friendly. And the food, oh my, the food, is delicious! You have to try the Original Chicago Dog! The sport peppers are tasty.
Went here with an old friend. Her first experience. She was completely impressed with the ambiance and the iconic decor of the place. Then the food. Being born and raised in Chicago, I had to explain a few things to her about the Chicago Dog and the Beefs. She loved the food and the Chocolate Shake blew her mind. I plan on making this a regular Home Away from Home.
