This a MUST VISIT if you are in Rochester. Omg the spinach dip and fried flat bread, you MUST try it. The fries were ahhhhmazing and the salmon was perfectly cooked with the glaze that added a hint of sweet that was just enough to balance the salmon. The Effn A is the perfect fruity drink with an epic balance that sings and the old fashioned was VERY well done. Service was spot on, friendly, attentive, and the prices were very reasonable for the quality of the food.
I ate here with some family while traveling. They had an excellent menu for whiskey and multiple people in my party were very satisfied with their drink choices. The food is mostly burgers and other fried selections. It wasn't bad, but it felt more like the drinks were their specialty and why people choose to go here. If that's what you are looking for, there are a lot of good choices.
Best smoked old fashioned ever! Gabby is an excellent bartender. excellent customer service from the whole team the minute we walked in was greated with a smile. definitely will be back. Kym and Laura.
The food was pretty good and the quality was fresh. I would love to go back again soon. What we ate: Pork Nachos: this was absolutely delicious. Perfect crunch to the tacos and that bbq pork with the fresh pico de gallo was just on point. Cheese Curds: nothing special about the cheese curds- have had much better in other places. This almost tastes like from the frozen section of a regular grocery. Fish Tacos: left much to be desired- not enough salad, not enough pico de gallo and certainly not enough fish. Margherita- tomato and basil flatbread with a drizzle of balsamic- yum Creme Brûlée: pretty good. Creamy and the right amount of sweet. Virgin Mojito: too much ice and too little syrup.
Friendly service, classic American food, and always an open seat at the bar. Perfect for just drinks, or a full dinner. The creme brulee was amazing and not overly sweet. They happily customized their cocktail menu to make virgin drinks on request.
Great restaurant downtown Rochester especially if you like whiskey. The smoked old fashioned was excellent. Cheese curds were great and the French dip was delicious. Excellent service! Can't wait to go back.
The bartender / waitress was awesome wanted only soup they didn't have crackers for the French onion so she toasted up some bread for me without even asking. All the other restaurants seem only have tomato basil soup. So very happy to get a great French onion soup.
Half Barrel is my favorite Bar and Restaurant place in downtown. excellent food, terrific service. My favorite burger in the city.Also, the four cheese artichoke spinach dip with fried pita bread bites are a must!Also serving the main beer types, and good brands.
Great food, get the prime rib sandwich! Also, our waitress, Kayla, was fantastic.
Had dinner there before a comedy event at the civic center. The food was great and the drinks were excellent, especially the old fashioned. The wait staff was also fantastic.
