The meals both my husband and I had were amazing. Our new friend... Christine, who also served us our dinner provided the best service ever AND she was fun to talk with! She offered suggestions on meal options, told us about the wonderful chef, and she was true to her word, everything was we ordered was cooked perfectly. We will for sure return before we leave Mayo and should we return The Salute will be our first stop (and hope to see Christine again!) Nedra and David
The Salute restaurant is a truly amazing and enjoyable experience. The food is so delicious. They have won top awards for best restaurant in Rochester. The Supervisor Terry Nipper has really developed a top team of chefs, waiters and waitresses. But the very best waitress my wife and I have ever had is Christine! She is so good at her profession! Never have we ever had someone like her. I had an appointment at Mayo a couple of months ago. She remembered that I had the Walleye dinner and that my wife had the crème brûlée for dessert and the area that we are from!!! Truly an enjoyable time. Feels like going to your friends place for dinner!
Best walleye I have had in a very long time & cooked perfectly. The salad was really good also but the fish was great.
Loved the food and wine at Salute! My husband and I ate there twice during my recent visit to Mayo Clinic. The first night our delightful waitress Christine suggested the Walleye. Having never had it before, I gave it a try. Deliciously prepared and served with seasoned potatoes and broccolini, all cooked to perfection. My husband enjoyed his pork tenderloin, grilled asparagus and cranberry apple chutney. We were told that the chef and kitchen staff were new so if you haven’t tried this gem recently, give it a try. You won’t be disappointed.

So glad we stopped by to try out the new menu! This will be on the top of my list when dining in downtown Rochester! The short rib crostini appetizer & the Italian sausage rigatoni was out of this world with flavor!
Decent “fancy” food but not overwhelmingly amazing for the price. Super expensive!
