We have dined here many times, but had not been here for at least two years. We were surprised to see the place has changed for the better. We arrived about 6PM on April 26, 2022, not busy, but soon the place filled up by the time we were leaving. New look outside. Inside, fewer tables, more open space, more booths, new tiled floor and a brand new menu. Prices have gone up since we were last here, hence the likely reason for a new menu. Food is still wonderful. Service is even better than before. Fast service for dine in and they have a large amount of take out customers. They still do not have any type of alcohol, but a larger variety of soft drinks. We shared an Edamame appetizer. My wife had the Shrimp Pad Thai and I had the Com Bo Xao Gung ( Rice Beef Ginger plate). Our server was Malin Ly, who was excellent and efficient with always a smile for us. One of the best places in Rochester to have lunch or dinner.
I understand everyone is busy and understaffed, but to just turn on the phone, so no one can call and you get a busy signal is not a great way to run a business. I called 14 times in a 20 minute period and got the busy signal every time. Once I got to the restaurant they said that is what they do when they are busy. I have always loved the food but that doesn’t seem like the greatest way to solve busy! I guess I will choose a different restaurant tonight!
This was excellent. The service and the food was fantastic. There is no doubt I will go back. I see why it was voted the best Asian restaurant last year.
Best dish is the Spicy Green Beans! Fried rice and egg rolls are also delicious! For a lighter dish, try one of the vermicelli dishes... I love the one with shrimp, beef, and an egg roll!
Love this place for a bowl of pho. The spiced chicken wings are a favorite and the staff are always friendly.
Scout and I went early to Pho Chau Vietnamese Restaurant to avoid many other customers in this time between Covid variants . The waitperson was masked and efficient and greeted us behind Plexi-Glas. She gave us time to read the menu. The place has been updated with booths instead of tables and chairs only. Scout ordered pretty spring rolls with shrimp to share, tasty hot-and-sour soup with chicken, and Vietnamese iced tea with boba. I chose the fresh vermicelli salad with beef and shrimp, lettuce, coriander, cucumber, and bean sprouts. The dishes were delicately spiced—I am not a fan of fish oil and could not taste it. The egg roll with my order was unusual—I am not sure what the filling was; Scout ate half and liked it. We left completely satisfied.
Why didn’t we try this sooner? So far we had the Pad Thai and Pho and it’s amazing and most authentic I have had in Rochester. Plentiful servings and polite, timely services.
Never been disappointed! We are becoming more low calorie/ high protein and this place has the yummiest soups! We also had the fresh sprimp spring rolls! YUM! We like their variety of oriental drinks too. Fun, clean atmosphere. We love coming here. ?
Went there to have a discussion with a Mayo Clinic employee. The food was OK, but only if we forgot what Vietnamese food is supposed to taste like (we've been to Vietnam). Very little flavor. Disappointing,
Good Vietnamese restaurant in Rochester. Had the Pho Chau, partner had Braised Tofu. Both were good. Service was very prompt. Busy place, but food came very quick.
