Service left a lot to be desired. Was not busy and the server seemed overwhelmed and the service suffered. We were extremely patient, with the empty water glasses, several moments of missing drinks, reminders and cutting off as we asked questions about the menu and servings (who cares if you have answered that question a thousand times, your job, your choice) and it did not improve throughout the entire meal up and through the imposition of hurrying us for the check. Extremely inconsiderate and unprofessional from all perspectives. Would not recommend this place to anyone ever in Rochester.
Yes, the place is dark and dated but the vibe is good. There are real people having dinner and by that I mean groups of people out for the purpose of enjoying a good meal and a pleasant experience. The staff is outgoing and personable. Attentive without being irritating and they enjoy their work and are proud of their product which is very good. The food is fresh and well prepared and very reasonably priced. If you are looking for a trendy sterile chain with no soul...keep looking. But if you want a place with fresh food, great recipes, and a family atmosphere, make your way to Pappys.

over all, AMAZING. the food was great i loved it, i was stuffed, which is rare. The atmosphere in the building was charming, the staff was really nice. it's a bit out of the way but its worth the drive. 5/5. would DEFINITELY come back

My wife and I returned here with another couple on February 17, 2022. We had not dined here for more than a year, though before the covid pandemic we had dined here about 6 times a year. Returning this time, it seems they were very short staffed. The owner was serving tables along with two other regular servers. Getting served was extremely slow compared to what was normal here. We were not complaining though, we realize it is tough times. Not a big wine selection here, but that is okay as well. House cabernet is only $5/glass. My wife had the Firecracker Shrimp and I had the the Steak And Bleu (one of our favorites here). Both were good, but not as good as previously. The bread in my Steak and Bleu was a bit too old and crusty, the steak tougher as well. The sauce was up to standards though. We shared a Bread Pudding for dessert. Just okay. Normally they have some great classic rock music playing, but for some reason it was not playing this night. I do hope things get better here.
Excellent waitress and food was good. Got there at 7PM and buffet ended at 8PM so was no large selection
Shelia is the best owner and server! The food n service was amazing the atmosphere was great we made new lots of new friends and will definitely keep going there. Its a great family business where everyone works as a team.
I had the blue cheese bacon burger with some piping hot tater tots...so dang good. The owner there was great, it was snowing and she needed the plow to come through, hated to bother us but offered s free drink in return. Thank you
