Delicious delicious burgers. Great service, like really great service. Almost dont want to recommend it to keep it Rochester little secret but MAN the burger and their fries are INCREDIBLE!!?

service was outstanding!! friendly and happy. place was small but very comfortable and inviting. we ordered burgers and coleslaw. 1st coleslaw was top 10. we order coleslaw at every restaurant we go to... this very top notch. burgers where prepared perfectly, presented great. taste was flavorful and memorable. fries where good but did not stand out as a go to side. I would travel distance to eat the burgers and coleslaw. side note we ate a high end steak house a few days prior in Rock Island Illinois, burgers where horrible and expensive.
No silverware, and no menus two others party's food was delivered before ours was as we arrived on the property before they did also this place wasn't accessible to older people A 91 year old man had to walk upstairs on side of building very steep just to gain entry.This property was very strange,dark and unsafe, I would ask management to revaluate the basics. Why is Lynard Skynard "Simple Man" so loud but one cannot see what their walking into. The experience overall was Rotten. The other Newt's property on the North Side of Town was much more organized and lighting was appropriate and the customer service and team was noticed.
This is my 2nd time here, and what a disappointment! The first time was many years ago for my anniversary, the food, service was all fast and great!Tonight, we came here for my daughter's national competition, Just for Kicks. We decided to go to Newt's for dinner since our first experience was so good. When we walked in, the message was to "Seat Yourself" so we did. I walked by a server and he was so busy bragging about his high school wrestling experience, he backed up and bumped into me. I made it a point to said, "Opps, sorry. Excuse me" and he didn't acknowledged me.We set down and waited. The waiter who bumped into me came by, looked at our table and started talking to the table next to us (who was already done eating). He continues to ignore us. There were two other female wait staff talking to each other and neither of them acknowledged us. We decided to give them 2 minutes to acknowledged us and they continued to chit-chat and laugh. We decided to leave. As we were passing one of the female wait staff, she looked at me and she pretended to go over to the cash register.I'm reminded that as EQUAL as America claims to be, we are still judged by the way we look. I'm Asian, my husband and daughter are both mixed. I'm left to think that they ignored us because we are not white as all the other white customers has been served. We WILL NEVER go back to Newt's.We went to Chester's and the food and service was awesome! GO TO CHESTER'S..much better view and clean setting!
Cheeseburger was really good so was the slaw. Bartender knew his job and he was fun. We had a good time there.
Good atmosphere and Coleslaw with great service. I stopped by again yesterday on 1/17. Not as friendly of a staff right at opening. Woman bartender asked if I wanted change from a $20 on a $12.99 tab? I'd think change back would be beyond obvious and I left over 20% tip and she didn't show much appreciation. The guy bartender kept saying "are you F'ing kidding me" as someone he worked with apparently didn't do something in bar station, but customers don't need to see or hear that right in front of them. Kills the atmosphere immediately. So, cutting down to 3 stars per the zippy bites overrated.
Very throwback! Feels like what I picture the 80s being like ? Seriously the best. best. food. ever.!!!!! The hamburgers are insane, and you have to the the deep fried pickles ??
I would recommend the north location always have excellent service and food there. The south location not so much. Waited for service for 15-20 minutes, they were not busy at all, only three other tables that had guests at them. Our food was cold and the waitress was very rude. She kept going to flirt with the four guys at another table. Told us that the restaurant was closed so we couldn’t get our pops refilled or food boxes for the food we had just received. Even though there were still people there and she didn’t say a word to them about being closed. Instead told us we were being rude because we wanted drinks to finish our cold food. And then went to pay and complained about no tip and crumbled the receipt in front of me after being rude about where I needed to sign and the tip amount. Will NOT being going back to Newt’s South.
This place made a perfect Juicy Lucy. Made a great Minnesota invention, the “un-burger” with the cheese folded inside the beef. I have not been there since COVID but tonight I had a hankering. Old dude bartender said, “They don’t have that no more”. No more Juicy Lucy. Now this place is 5 Guys with popcorn instead of peanuts. R.I.P. Lucy Nobody wore a face mask so she probably died from the virus.
