Don't believe the reviews if you are not from MN! If you are from California specifically your absolutely not going to like this BBQ! The BBQ sauce is more like a vinaigrette dressing than a BBQ sauce. The BBQ chicken looked baked and wasn't even brown. The only thing that tasted good was the bread and butter. The sides were about $8 and it was the size for a toddler. I would give it ZERO stars if I could.

Stopped at John Hardy’s on my way to the airport. I decided on the pulled pork sandwich and 3 rib dinner. Ribs were very tender, juicy and the meat fell right off the bone. Pulled pork was very tasty and NOT salty like a lot of other pulled pork I’ve eaten. The sandwich was loaded with pork on a nice fresh roll. You have your choice of different sauces. I choose the medium. It was very flavorful with a taste that rivals just about any southern bbq sauce. Service was great and they got my food out fast. Oh almost forgot about the Cole slaw. Some of the best I’ve had in a long time. It’s the good creamy slaw and not that vinegar based crap. If you’re in Rochester and in the mood for bbq, Hardy’s is a great choice and will not disappoint.

Service fast, efficient and straight to the point. Hot end sauces (bad boy, big boy) actually has some heat along with flavor. Brisket and ribs both looked dry, though not really with the mouth feel was still not moist. Ribs are not the fall apart slow cook kind. Fried okra side was just ok, needs to be at least hit with some salt. Same with the sweet potato tots (freezer bought but was to be expected). Hot links from a friend was I thought the actual winner. They said their pulled pork was good.

Huge portions at a reasonable price. I ordered the combo plate of shredded pork and beef biscuit and chose the baked beans and jo jos as my side. The meat had a nice thick smoke flavor. It was unsauced so you could choose your own heat. My baked beans were sweet and smoky, my "jo jos" were more of an American fry and were very greasy but still yummy. My husband ordered the rib dinner that came with baked beans and a whole plate of fries! He thought the flavor was just so so. All in all, I thought it was a pretty good meal.

I went is and asked do I sit any where? The server said yes so I did. I waited 8 minutes and never acknowledged and a different couple came in and sat and was given menus immediately. Wow I just got up and left will never go back. The sad thing is I was looking forward to bbq.

I was happy with everything .I had ribs and jojo's fried okra and a beer. The jojo's are thin sliced fried potatoes

Excellent BBQ and a pleasant surprise! This place was busy and had a steady flow of people, food came out fast and was delicious. The pork was not sauced which I appreciate and the ribs had a perfect bite while being tender. Sauces were great and plenty of options.

Been a fan of their pork plates for most of my life. Still some of the best barbecue I've ever had. The jojo's (side dish) are also really good.

Wife and I out for dinner. I ordered the open-faced pulled pork sandwich. It is served on top of 2 garlic bread slices and topped with baked beans. It comes with choice if potato (always a dilemma whether it's crinkle cut fries or their signature jo jo's) and choice of veggies side. I went with the fries and the potato salad-not disappointed in either. The pork was smoky, moist and delicious. The ample portion of fries was hot and crispy, and the potato salad was slightly sweet and delicious as always as well. My wife ordered the "plate" which includes choice of 2 meats, potato and side veggie/salad. She got ham and turkey with sweet potato tots along with a side of fried okra (yuck), but she said they were really good. The ham and turkey were very moist, the turkey had a real good smoke flavor. Our service was really good too. Greeted quickly, drink order brought out quickly, order taken and he even joined in on the joking about the okra order. Our food came out quickly, and once again a well-timed comment about the okra as he placed our food down. As stated, all the food items were fresh, hot and delicious. The server refilled our drinks BEFORE they were empty, truly becoming a lost art. The plate was $12.95 and my sandwich was $10.95. All told, worth every penny. The table was clean, as was the dining room as a whole. The salt and pepper shakers as well as the squeeze bottles of bbq sauce were a little sticky, but not terribly. The table side menus felt very clean. I would recommend anyone hankering for smoked meat/barbecue, John Hardy's is the real deal.

I can't believe people think this is good. Definitely never been out of the Midwest for BBQ. Cold food sauces were horrible with no flavor.if you like a unbaked potato this is the place to go.
