The atmosphere is amazing and the food was delicious. I’m not typically a “burger person” but I would be if they all tasted like Hot Chips burgers. So good. I had “the original” with a side of broccoli (right?!) the broccoli was amazing too. Loved it. Well done Hot Chips ??????

I are lunch with coworkers here today. Love the counter service model where you order and pay at the kiosk and they bring your food to your table. It’s so much easier to do that with a group of nine people than to have a server take all those orders! The server helped us get a couple of tables outside and it was just a beautiful day to eat on the patio. The food was really good and I really appreciate all the substitutions built into the ordering process. I subbed in a vegan patty on a standard burger and I added a broccoli side dish instead of having to get fries. I’ll definitely be back to try the vegan milkshakes and maybe even a boozy vegan milkshake.
Loved this fun, modern and down-to-Earth dining experience. Seat yourself in the eclectic indoor dining area near the arcade games or the bar, or check out the amazing covered patio with views of the river below. Orders are placed from the touchscreen terminals inside, and the food is delivered quickly by staff to your table. The burgers were excellent, and there's a huge range of traditional and vegan options for burgers, shakes and sides. You can indulge or keep it on the lighter side if you prefer a healthier option. The manager was very friendly and took time to visit with guests.
In my opinion Hot Chip has the best Burgers in town. Burger of the month " Are you looking at my mangoes Burger" was amazing! Tuna was perfectly cooked and paired so well with mango salsa. My all time favorite is "Call me the Dude Burger" Mushrooms in this burger are a perfect combination with aioli. I also have to mention that their pickles are to die for and we are planning on picking up a jar next time we are there!!
Overrated disaster! I love me a burger and when I saw this place took over from Newt’s as Rochester’s best burger, I had to try it. To make it fair, I ate a burger from Newt the day before for comparison. I picked a specialty burger and the single, overcooked patty was overwhelmed by the mountain of salad piled on it. The sandwich felt cold although the patty wasn’t. My fries were hot but WAY OVER seasoned. The $17.30 I spent for this takeout was a waste. Maybe it’s a local legend but as a midwesterner from another state, I’ll never come back here. The only positive is their creativity. Awful burger experience. ?????
This place has really gone down hill. Customers can order at the front (like McDonald's but much less efficient) or scan the code and order at your table. The ordering system was a bit funky and we were logged out a couple of times and it was difficult to get back into the system. There is a laminated menu, but it doesn't have pricing and we were only allowed one physical menu for 6 of us. The drinks are self serve. (Also like McDonalds) They were not busy, and there were plenty of staff floating around. Our food arrived very slowly and the staff truly seemed not to care about the customer. Hot Chip is now like a sit down fast food place but with staff not up to par with that of McDonald's, Culvers or Five Guys and burger that are 3 times more expensive. (Five Guys fries are better than Hot Chip) The burgers are good, but with service like it is, it is just not worth it.
This place is amazing!!! They've got great burgers and good drinks!! The shakes are also really delicious and they give you A LOT for the price - you drink half inside the place and then as for a to go cup and drink the other half later at home ?I actually like the set up in there too. The restaurant feels cozy and I've yet to sit at the bar sometime but it looks like fun and I really like the lighting.The service working is great. One of the guys there recognized us from a while ago which surprised me! They are all friendly from my experience and that makes it all the better and more welcoming. One thing I noticed is that the place seems to be able to keep a fully staffed restaurant and that might actually help to create a better atmosphere for the workers to be able to get their job done.Anyways, totally recommend!
I think it was a descent burger. I liked the taste, thought it wasn’t special. We ordered two burgers with fries and chili. You have to order and pay upfront with the tips at the entrance. I personally think the burger wasn’t as heavy as the price might indicate. We generally order one burger and eat together but this time we finished both burger which immediately made us think this wasn’t as heavy as the price said. This is not necessarily bad but again the price did not reflect that. We also felt the fries weren’t as fresh as it should be. The starter was also some popcorn which was too salty, almost burn or half done. I felt it was from the bottom of the pan ?. Maybe I should have chosen this place for lunch than dinner on a Friday night, dunno. You have to pay an extra money to dine in then another extra for tip. Then you have to do pretty much everything yourself. We haven’t even been offered a glass of water. A fast food joint pretty much, which again is not bad but the price did not reflect that. I am not super sure why they ask for tip. To me tip is for serving and if I have to do everything myself then seem like a fast food place, so kinda confused. In general, I wont come back here unless the price is cut to half, or I receive a reason as to why the price doesn’t match the service.
This place is always busy for a reason and now I see why ! You walk in and order at the kiosk, you can custom your burger however you’re feeling that day ! It may not look like it but i got the 4 Pattie with double cheese and bacon on my burger with sweet tater tots and wow it was delicious ! Food came out really fast , burger was cooked like I asked and not to mention they have variety of drinks options ! This is my go to place from now on !
