Every community should be so lucky as to have a small independent theater like Gray Duck. From the great limited run indie films to the programming and fun food and beverage tie ins for the more mainstream stuff, and allowing the public to use its space for other events, Gray Duck is proving to be a tent pole of the Rochester neighborhood scene.Hopefully the city will finally work with them to install the on street bike parking!
Saw the new Top Gun movie. This is a great theater. More people need to go here for great movies.
This was a super fun cozy spot to see a movie with friends. The price and lovely coffeeshop are an amazing bonus. Super excited to go again!
Went for my first time yesterday for the 12:00 showing of Compartment No.6. Really loved the atmosphere, the attendant was super nice and helpful, and the popcorn was great!Unfortunately there was an issue with the audio and it was just too distracting for me to finish the film. I also found the parking confusing, is there parking around back or just the 2 hr parking?Those things aside I'm still eager to come back!!
Reminiscent of theatres from my youth in a small town. One screen, one movie at a time, outstanding service, treating you like a person, will even deliver fresh popcorn to you in the theatre when it's ready. A few different movies every day. Lobby doubles as a coffeehouse; go early for a movie or just go for the coffeeshop. Convenient parking on the street or in the big lot just around the corner. Ask about their incredible membership program!
Thank goodness this came to Rochester. The coffee is great and the theater is comfortable. I’m so grateful for the socially distanced seating and great range of entertainment.

Love this place! Such a quaint and niche hole-in-the-wall experience. Coffee/tea and a movie. Where else can you get this combo? That’s right, no where but here, and I’m so here for it!A perfect date night or place to show off to friends and family from out-of-town.
nice little theatre. worth driving an hour from la crosse every few weeks to see something special (Lamb, Red Rocket)
