I live in the twin cities but we go to Flapdoodles any time we are in Rochester. I believe Flapdoodles (Both locations) have the best ICE CREAM in Minnesota. Never have had a scoop with ICE in it because the quality is that high. We just went this last weekend because my daughter wanted once of their strawberry ice cream cakes for her birthday. We bought the cake from their south location and received great service. We were provided with a extra box when they realized we were going to be driving back with the cake. We bought 20 pounds of ice from a nearby gas station and poured it inside the box they gave us covering the cake. We got home in an hour and half and the cake was still completely frozen. We tried the cake and it was just as great as the rest of their ice cream products. It really is the best ice cream cake we ever have had. The ice cream being made with real strawberries really made it even better.
Flapdoodles has excellent ice cream! They have some unique flavors like the lavender and also your classic flavors as well. Their waffle cones are made fresh in store. I wish they didn't put their cones in a plastic holder though. You can get through their line pretty fast to get your ice cream. Inside they have seating and their is one picnic table outside to sit at.
I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream. Local premium handmade, made on site ice cream shoppe with two locations. Ice cream parlor offers a wide variety of flavored ice cream, malts and shakes, cakes and pies and even made to order waffle cones. We once again indulged ourselves with the Flabbermast, that came with two regular scoops in a dish with two mini sugar cones on top for sails. Our picks was the ever decadent salty carmel, a caramel and sea salt flavored ice cream and my go-to Rocky Road with chocolate ice cream, marshmallow swirl and chopped almonds. Support a local business and find yourself screaming for more ice cream!
Great place to go for ice cream. Would give them 5 stars, but the last time we went we asked for a pup cup. We were charged the price of a regular scoop and it was half the size. Most places don’t charge for pup cups, but if you do, at least make it fair.
A cool treat on an extra warm spring evening! Very tasty ? My only complaint/suggestion would be that there was no ice cream packed INSIDE the cone, so it was a rather precariously perched (and large!) scoop of cookies & cream in perfect ball form, then nothing below; required some delicate maneuvering through the shop and made for some pretty boring cone consumption.
You can have your name in lights, that is under the light in the ice cream cooler, when you add a name to some ice cream flavors. Check which ones need your help.
Great spot for an ice cream treat. The scoops are generous and the flavors are delicious. The chocolate peanut butter is my favorite.
Fun flavors and easy to order ahead online for quick pick up. North store has drive-through window. South store has curbside but the sign is in small letters and easily hidden by parked cars.
I'm not originally from Rochester, so when I saw this place called "Flapdoodles" (such a cute name btw) I knew I had to try it out, and I fell in love! Great ice cream, great atmosphere, the decor in the buildings are great, and tend to make me laugh. Staff is always friendly. The vibes are great and always lift my spirits. If I could rate them better than a 5/5, I definitely would.
Icecream is so smooth! Very fresh and yummy.Part of the fun is dining in and reading the jokes printed on the walls and the tables while you eat!
