First time here, tried the Szechuan Fish big bowl 华洋冷锅鱼 recommended by the owner, tastes authentic ?Want to try the famous tianjin crepes 煎饼果子but it was sold out. Want to order di San xian 地三鲜 too, no eggplant? The owner reminded us to call and order the dishes 1-2 days in advance in case it’s sold out…So we would definitely give it another go when we are in town again
Wow, this place has amazing food and service! I've been looking for a new spot to enjoy Asian takeout and to my surprise this place has to be the best in the area! So far I've only tried the beef egg fu young and szechuan spicy wonton, I'm looking forward to trying much much more, I'm definitely a satisfied customer!
Ordered delivery and it came very quickly although the Lo Mein noodles were very mushy, dumplings tasted like oil. I’d assume they didn’t have the oil hot enough when frying them. I called to provide this feedback so they could do a better job for the next customers but didn’t really get anywhere. Sad to say we won’t order from this restaurant again.
Reading the reviews, I wish we’d ordered more traditional and less Americanized dishes. The beef in my friends dish was spongy, and the cashews in my cashew chicken were rancid, and there was so much celery I was reminded of the ‘70s Chinese food we ordered when I was a kid.
Great authentic Chinese food. I’ve been searching the Twin Cities for good Mongolian Beef. After years of searching, I’ve found it here. Best Chinese around!
Best Chinese food in the area!
Best Szechuan in Twin Cities! This place is truly a hidden gem, run by masters. The owner comes from a popular Szechuan place in Minneapolis and she struck out on her own to take over a failing takeout joint in a strip mall. And thank goodness! The menu is full of authentic Szechuan specialties. On this visit we tried:Bamboo shoots in chili oil (cold salad with scallions - fresh, crunchy and wonderful)Juicy buns (classic soup dumplings done right)Dan-dan noodles (perfectly prepared top to bottom)Boiled fish Szechuan style (the oily broth was rich and delicious, with tons of cabbage, sprouts and tofu to make a wonderfully balanced dish)Cumin lamb (velvety and deeply flavorful, contrasted with crunchy shredded lettuce).Eggplant stir-fried with garlic and pork (drop-dead delicious)I cannot wait to go back and dive deeper into the menu.Service was super sweet and friendly, food came out plenty fast and perfectly prepared, dish after incredible dish. They also have the classic Hunan dishes that the American palate is more familiar with, and I'm sure they do a great job with those items, but if you crave amazing Szechuan, this is it. If you are a fan of Teahouse, Szechuan Spice, Grand Szechuan, etc., this will be your new favorite. It's small with only a handful of tables but super clean and freshly painted, simple but pleasant decor - great for dining in or take out.FINDING IT: Remember that I called it a hidden gem? It actually is - the old "#1" sign still hangs on the facade of the strip mall above their storefront, only a small sign on the door says, "Hua Yang" - embrace the adventure and seek it out - if you know what good Szechuan food is, you'll be delighted!
The bad reviews are true! What a waste of $50. Worse Chinese food I’ve ever had!!! Save yourself the disappointment. I recommend the owner drive down to FRESH WOK on 46th and Nicollet in Minneapolis and acquaint themselves with what Chinese food should taste like.Very disappointing.
Best Chinese food take out!!
I ordered the ribs. Burnt and dry. ( i placed my order around 6:30 pm on a weekend, so its not like i ordered right before they closed.)Cheese Wontons were so tiny and hard. IVegetable egg foo young was good, the gravy that goes with them was so salty, I couldnt eat it. I loved this place when it was under the name #1. Never had a complaint.
