I can confirm that this is NOT a good dairy queen. I have been here a few times and the blizzards are runny, they are out of certain flavors, and the kids (highschool?) that work here don't seem to really care about the job at all.
The staff needs to be retrained or supervised. They were just very rude. Dining room was closed. The drive through goes across the back of the building where they left their garbage room garage door open. So you are sitting next to this open door with over flowing trash dumpsters and flies the room had trash every where. Kid who took our order came on and said what can I get you and then the only response was, what else, what else. He kept saying he couldnt hear me so I ended up yelling my order. From what I could see in the window, it was not clean in the kitchen. We were not greeted at all. Only told our total. The young man handing food could use a shower. The food was not great. Overall very dissapointed. Had I not promised my kid we could find a dairy queen, I would have left.
I purchased 4 gift cards for my nieces and nephews last fall, which they were not able to use due to never having been activated. Fast forward several months and numerous calls later to the 800 number on the gift cards, this store, and later with a woman who told me that she was the new regional director of operations for the region, and I still have not received replacement gift cards (which I was recently told twice were finally mailed - months later, but it has now been well over a week since I was told this and I still do not have those, either). Neither this store nor Dairy Queen corporate have been helpful thus far in resolving this. I cannot resolve through my credit card company since they were gift cards and not product purchased.***Edited to add: I just received both the gift cards sent by the local Dairy Queen (4 to replace the 4 I spent so much of my time trying to recover) as well as an additional 9 (an amount that feels more respectful of the effort spent in addition to initial money lost) sent by the woman from corporate who I'd spoken with who happened to be at the local Dairy Queen the day I stopped. This took over two weeks to get to me, so I'm not sure why the delay (perhaps USPS?), but I just wanted to come back to report that they did ultimately arrive.Regarding the response from corporate, below: I DID call corporate headquarters just prior to posting this and decided to post when the response from corporate was that they would submit my complaint and someone would get back to me, but it was also noted that if I didn't hear back in a week I should try calling back again. I called WAY too many times already (to the local store I purchased them from) to be told once again that I should be the one responsible for calling back and not someone from DQ responsible for reimbursing me for money taken months prior without product rendered (an issue confirmed by Dairy Queen early on yet not rectified). In any case, the issue is finally resolved. Keeping my 1 star review, because I wasted a lot of my time on this.
came up to the drive thru and ordered. employee claimed he couldn’t hear me so i repeated the order twice. came up to the window and the guy repeated my order wrong. no big deal- i repeated my original order. employee listened and gave me my blizzards. when i got home he gave me the wrong blizzards. pretty disappointed and would rate 1 star but i already ate the blizzard LOL
Lots of people angry at this Dairy Queen. We actually got really good service in the drive-thru and got a free Sunday because they accidentally made an extra one. We’re from Prior Lake and wish our’s was more like this one.
Why would you close at 9pm on a Friday evening in the summer? By the time we all get done with the kids activities, softball, karate etc, we want to have some DQ, your DQ, but you're not open later. We go to Golden Valley now.
Came here 35 minutes before closing and was told they wouldn’t help us because they were closed. Also did this to the 4 people in front of us in line. Talk about horrible customer service!
Every time I’ve gone through this Dairy Queen the customer service has been horrible, between being ignored and the service being super slow. As well as every blizzard I’ve ordered here they aren’t mixed at all, everything’s always just sitting on top. Hopefully reading from other reviews people have had similar experiences. I don’t think I’m going back anymore at this point and I would reccomend people avoid it as well.
Dining room closed!?!?! Just lost another customer.
The line is really long usually and it’s slow to move forward. The drive through is also only one lane. I think they’re chronically understaffed. The service has always been good though! I also love how they give pup cups (ice cream in a ketchup container) for my dog each time I go through their drive through! On nice days, we order from their drive through then go around to their outdoor dining area in the front to eat.
