I normally love this chain, but was incredibly frustrated with today's visit. We stopped by during the Edina Art Fair's last day and picked up some treats. While there, the young man working seemed less than pleased to have to help us. I'm sure he had a long day, so it wouldn't normally bother me, except when I got home I found that the butter bar I had paid for was a lemon bar. I'd been given the wrong item when not looking. He might not have known this, but I can't eat lemons, they make me very sick. So it was an unpleasant surprise to bite into my butter bar at home, and get a sharp and shocking lemon bite taste in my mouth. I'll spend the rest of my evening feeling nauseous and ill, as well as sad that I had to throw away a perfectly good treat because it is not what I ordered, and not something I can eat.
This bakery is a family favorite....there are several locations across the Twin Cities...and I think all of them produce the same quality of goods. Today i got the rainbow cake and it was delicious. If you are near one it's definitely worth stopping in.
I have loved having Wuollet's cupcakes and cakes at every birthday party and family celebration for the past 10+ years. They have reliably been a special treat for many occasions. That's why I chose to buy their cupcakes for our Mother's Day party. When I picked up my order yesterday, I saw that the cupcakes are about half the size they used to be. Nothing special at all, so unlike what they used to be. They looked like cupcakes I could make with a baking mix at home. The cashier told me new owners took over recently, and the owners decided to change their wonderful cupcakes into what they are now, but keep their old price.Their website still shows their old cupcakes in the photos. That is what I believed I was ordering. What a complete disappointment. I will never again order from this once-treasured family-owned business. So deceptive to show the old photos and make no mention of the new changes to their product. It's sad to see such a good local business being run down. I will miss having the old Wuollet's as part of my family celebrations.
I called in to order a raspberry filled cream icing sheet cake for a retirement party (male). Asked for very little decoration on the top because I was going to top with fresh raspberries. What I got was a bunch of swirls and glitter all over the top of the cake. - Apparently the bakers didn't read that it was for a retirement party - I also ordered an assortment of cookies and bars on line to be picked up at the same time as the cake I sent a coworker to pick both orders up Wuollet's had trouble finding both orders and couldn't tell if they had been paid. - Both had been paid on line. The cake was ready, but the cookie/bars order was not. They were out of 2 of the 3 bars and one of the cookies I had selected and so they gave us all of the same kind of bars - jammed into a box which then broke apart and looked horrible to set out for guests. Overall just poor presentation and no apologies other than, looks like we missed this one. It was an $85 order that was attached to a $175 cake order. - They need to get their customer service act together. I will not be back to order again! No matter what company it is - customer service and the product they produce have to be superior or people will stop coming back. I won't pay premium prices for dry cake and just "so so" cookies and bars - they have to be excellent. So I I am sorry to say will be looking elsewhere.
their cakes are very dry.. terrible. don't recommend.terrible customer service
The cake was supposed to just be black and gold. Did not turn out like I expected the cake was absolutely delicious but they put in these round candy sprinkles that were so hard you couldn’t chew into them so you were afraid to take a quick bite because you would literally break your teeth off !!!
my sister was in town visiting some high school friends and stopped in to buy some cookies. on her way out of town she stopped at my place and asked me if I could return the cookies as they were horribly rancid. we tried calling and had to listen to this menu with no options until they said please hold the line and then it rang continuously and after about 5 minutes we hung up. I then drove over to wuollet's and there were two young gentlemen working and I waited for all the customers to be gone and told them what had happened. they did remember my sister and told me they couldn't give me a refund and I needed to call and talk to a Cortez in the morning. I proceeded to call and talk to a Sara at the office and she told me that I could stop in on Wednesday and get a refund and make sure they pulled the cookies off the shelf. so I stopped in there today (Wednesday), and the same gentleman were working and another woman. They didn't know anything about a refund or that I would be stopping by. the lady then called the office and talked to Sara. my story was verified and she then proceeded to give me my refund. This is very poor customer service as we were in your store three times and we were never compensated for anything! your employees don't know how to do a refund and the cookies we're still on the shelf! I will never shop there! my lesson is I guess I should have just left it alone because I paid more in gas going back and forth than the $8.50 it cost for the cookies.
Fantastic white cake with raspberry filling. Moist, flavorful, substantive and the buttercreme frosting was amongst best I've ever tasted. Great service too!
I went to order two cakes here in the Edina location the kids there are so rude and don’t know anything I showed them a picture of the cake I wanted and she wrote it down and it was a simple decoration just two colors she also asked to email a picture of the cake so I did that too I came Saturday noon to pick up my cake it looked absolutely NOTHING like the picture I showed them and sent them I was so disappointed it completely ruined my daughters birthday theme and they said they couldn’t do absolutely nothing about it so the cake wasn’t just what I asked for it was also ugly I couldn’t believe it I had to settle for something different they didn’t even try to fix the mistake or problem I walked out of there so disappointed I started crying when I went inside my car I literally had to buy a plain white cake and decorate it myself cause Woullet staff couldn’t do 1 job, when I was driving away a lady customer that was behind me in the store honked at me and asked me to bring my window down and told me “you should have not had to pay for those cakes they mest up so bad, I’m sorry this happened to you” like wow a lady that didn’t even work there had to apologize to me so sad she also said “those kids don’t know anything” and she’s right!
This is a photo of the “candle cake” I ordered. I asked for yellow writing. Cake was decent but decorating nothing like what was promised. Looked very amateur. Disappointing.
