We got to Volstead's a little before 11pm on Thursday nite. The website said they were open until 2. We waited outside, fourth in line. The door person told us they wouldn't take anyone in after 11:30 because they closed at 12. At 11:10 we were first in line when the door person inform us the manager decided that since they'd had a hard night they weren't taking anyone else in. I guess we'll wait until they get management that's interested in serving the customer during business hours instead of going home early before we'll try this speakeasy again.

Visited from out of town on the recommendation of a friend. Very cool little place with a great vibe. Food was amazing (highly recommend the steak bites and Brussels). The drinks were also fantastic with so many fun options. My husband LOVED the Dear Deloris with the rosemary simple syrup, but above all Edgar made the experience. He was more than welcoming, happy to educate and just conversate. So glad we found it!!!

Came here a few months ago and just remembered to review. I love these gems hidden under such humble surroundings! The fact that it was designed like a true Prohibition-style speakeasy with the inconspicuous entrance and doorman makes the experience feel taboo but so much fun! We were visiting Minneapolis and had to come check it out. They did not disappoint! The space has been so beautifully curated. It's got a sexy, intimate feel to it. It was perfect for our out-of-town date night! Drinks were fabulous and the food was good but if I were to come back, it'd be for the drinks, for sure! Definitely check this place out!

Awesome atmosphere and tasty cocktails! Only thing that was annoying was the waiter took our drinks when there was still one third of our drinks left. Loved the Jazz Band they had playing! ??

This was my first speakeasy experience and I enjoyed the drinks but not the food, I had deviled eggs. I assume that they don't have very many black patrons by the way people kept looking at us even before we made it into the place, I honestly didn't feel welcome until my friend showed up and would never return here on my own. It's not their fault the way the customers acted but it seemed like this experience is obviously tailored to a specific demographic.

I’m not big on jazz myself, so I try not to go when there’s live music. But it’s a cool place with great drinks, a nice vibe, and tasty food options if you get hungry. The speakeasy atmosphere is always cool and they have some great (original?) Art Deco decor, which is personally my favorite part.

We regrettably were unable to try the food.... but the drinks and service were fantastic! Nate took great care of us on a busy Tuesday night. We were pleased with all of our drinks and the old time-y setting was just lovely with the piano playing. We can't wait to go back to try the food. While pricy, such a delight and must experience. Worth every penny.

Amazing place that everyone in Minnesota should visit at least once, if not every month! Both drinks and food are amazing, and it has the coolest atmosphere ever! Try to find the peacock room, or better yet reserve it as a private room for parties around the 4-7 people count. Excellent live music too! Thanks Andrew

best speakeasy bar and restaurant in the metro!

Don’t walk, but run to this place. Amazing vibes. Inspiring interior. Great GREAT food. Even better drinks. I want to live here for forever.
