A cool coffee shop hiding with hand crafted drinks and coffee drinks. I ordered the Mariachi with coconut milk, but I was not tasting Mexican hot chocolate as it tasted more of a standard latte. The coffee could have been sweeter as it was lacking. I'd give it another try.
I have been going to this Cafe since 2015 and I have always loved their coffee and food, but the last year, I have been disappointed with the service and coffee. The baristas are never rude, but definitely not chatty. They want to take your order and thats it. They have amazing pastries, but I am disappointed sandwiches like the bacon jam breakfast sandwich was never brought back. The coffee is always good, although mocha tastes like chocolate milk, hard to taste espresso.
Such a great coffee shop and roaster! Amazing varieties and every employee knows the story behind the coffee and the farm they come from. Can't say enough positive things about Up!
Was just passing through the neighborhood and had to drive a couple blocks out of my way to check this place out. I was looking for a quick coffee and a (savory) breakfast pastry. My first 'wow' factor was a real, wood burning fire pit outside the front door. How cool is that on a weekday morning? In the middle of winter?Second, the coffee and the pastry were both incredible. It's not too often that independent coffee shops hit the mark on all fronts: ambiance, coffee quality, and food quality. This place did it. It might be tough for me to come back as I'm not in the neighborhood, but anyone within proximity should make the effort.
UP Coffee is one of my most favorite coffee shops in mpls! Very open and inviting staff and atmosphere, dogs are welcome inside which is awesome for some free serotonin while studying. A great place to study, and as of now (Mar 22') its always very quiet in the mornings to get work done. The beans are also roasted in house and are my favorite of all the local roasteries (you also get a great value for your money). Very Covid conscious even after 2 years, they really care about your experience! No pretentious coffee snobs here, just great vibes and even better coffee.
A lot of pretense. Also be aware if you forget a mask, they will provide you one and charge you $1.00 (for a $0.10 disposable mask). Dogs apparently allowed at this eating/drinking establishment, does not seem sanitary. Only dissolvable paper straws are served.
One of out most faverite coffee roasters in the twin cities. We recommend you try the Matador roast for home espresso machines!
Our niece gave me a lb of their Minnesota Mudd for Christmas. It is DELICIOUS!!!!! I love dark and complex roasts! I’ll be ordering more!
Minneapolis has lots of coffee shops, but Up is by far my favorite. Staff is the most friendly and the baked good are the reason we stop there before any road trip. The soft baked peanut butter chocolate chip cookie is out of this world. My favorite bean: Ethiopia!!
Lovely coffee shop just at the edge of como. Great specialty lattes and they do their own fair-trade roasting which is neat. Also very work friendly if you just want a cafe to sit in while you crank out a report!
