I will never be back!!! On July 18 my grandson and I spent a few days in the area for his U of M inbriefing. That evening we went to the U Garden for supper. The waiter kept making vulger and rude comments about my grandson and I. I'm not sure what his problem was but it was the most unprofessional waiter I've ever had. I will never be back.
Arguably the best sesame chicken in Minneapolis; extra crispy chicken with thick, delicious sesame sauce. Stays crispy even after driving home!
Buffet was sparsely stocked. That makes sense given how quiet the restaurant was at the time. They're usually busy with construction workers and other regulars during the peak lunch and dinner hours, but during the rest of the time, it's almost empty and the food can sit around a bit. So unless you're going at busy times, you may not get fresh food, as it's getting replenished frequently at those times. They have a regular chinese buffet foods. Nothing stood out to be honest and I think you can find a better buffet. Sumo is pretty good.
They need to taste their food before serving it on the buffet. I had takeout from here, the orange chicken/beef tasted like soap. The worst thing was that I bit into uncooked fried chicken drumstick, it smelled and looked raw. The 2 stars are for the noodles but it’s not somewhere I’d return to after that uncooked fried chicken.
I’ve been coming here for the past couple years and the food is consistently good. More flavorful than all other Chinese food buffets I’ve been to and cooked exactly right. Big shoutout to whoever fills the wontons with the most cream cheese, they don’t skimp on it here. Waitstaff always make sure you’re water is filled and overall, everyone is pleasant and professional.
They have a great buffet for lunch. The employees even offered some extra food when they closed the buffet. Very good service!
I'm not sure if it's due to covid or not but they have a very small buffet at the moment. Some of the items on it are great, some are just average, some I wouldn't recommend. The service is very good though. She will come by to refill the waters every minute it seems. The buffet would be easier to recommend if there were more items on it. Weak points of the buffet were the shrimp as well as their pad thai/singapore noodles, which are dry and have little to no flavor. I would give it 3.5 but will round up to 4.
They have a buffet up and running for lunch, good social distancing and restaurant and great food.
Our favorite spot! The food here is always delicious, hot and plentiful! The staff and cooks are always very kind and generous. Somehow they manage to always read my mind and throw in a couple extra fortune cookies!! It’s the small things, the great food and the excellent service that keep us coming back!
You guys have the most fabulous chicken wings thank you
