The cake for the Collecting Memories exhibit was a big hit with the curators and the attendees at the opening. A lot of people took pictures of it. By the end of the evening, it was almost all gone (with thankfully a little bit for us to take home and keep enjoying). Such a delicious cake and the design featuring superheroes and classic monsters was stunning.Thank you so much for your great work and I look forward to more Thirsty Whale goodies in the future.
This bakery absolutely crushed it! I had my sights set on ice cream cone styled cake pops, and so many other bakeries said they couldn’t do it. Out of the many custom cakes I’ve ordered over the years, this place created my favorite! Bravo!
Thirsty Whale did our wedding cakes and I would highly recommend them for both special events and your everyday bake-good needs! We wanted to have our "cats" at the wedding through cakes and they turned out better than we could imagine. People were amazed how real they looked! Absolutely loved the cakes and they were a huge hit!

Not to mention their freshly baked pastries are to die for. I highly recommend the Caramel Pecan Danish and any of the brownies/bars! Can’t go wrong with the cute cupcakes in the front case either! The employees are always so friendly, it feels like one big family!

Tried it out this morning me and my mom got a bunch of goodies. The banana split cupcake was super tasty and was moist ? can’t wait to stop in again!
This delightful bakery has a lovely selection of amazing pastries and cookies! I have loved every single thing I've tried - and it's very affordable for the quality. The photos on the wall really showcase their amazing cake decorating skills. I will be making several return trips in order to sample everything.
We LOVE Thirsty Whale Bakery! My friends and I ordered a custom cake to celebrate a local friend's marriage and it was truly better than we could have imagined. 12/10 would recommend a custom cake order from this amazing team.
We were over the moon with how our cake turned out. We had one meeting and tasting early on in our wedding planning with Megan. We gave her our vision and she took a sketch based off of our description. Through two COVID reschedules, a lot of time passed from that meeting to our reception date but my oh my, let me tell you, I was almost in tears of absolute joy when I saw the cake being delivered and set up. It was absolutely perfect and exceeded our expectations, I didn’t even want to cut into it and I wish I could have saved it forever! Plus, probably most importantly for a bakery, the cake was DELICIOUS!!!My husband and I went into the bakery to return the cake/cupcake stand rentals the next day and while we were there we heard someone say, “was that for the Hobbit cake?” and then came around the corner and it was Megan to congratulate us and it was just such a sweet moment and it’s things like that that give me the fuzzies and make me happy to support local businesses. I am so happy that I went with Thirsty Whale for not one, but TWO of my cakes! I did a lot of research and after not being so pleased with a cake shop in Edina last year I knew I had to search for a new spot. I got a birthday cake from Thirsty Whale and was blown away at the quality, presentation and creativity. But the best part? The cake was so delicious! Everyone loved it and finished their slice. Their cake prices are also very reasonable and competitive. I’m very excited to pickup my daughter’s birthday cake next month.
