If you haven't been here yet and you enjoy truly authentic Chinese food... what are you waiting for? This place has been a go-to spot for my partner and I for over a year now and it never gets old.As far as their American Classics go, my partner orders the General Tso's Chicken each and every time we go! He says it's the best he's ever had.I've tried a handful of dishes here, but on the American Classics menu, my favorite is the Tiger Pork. Holy moly, is it delicious! The Tiger Pork is so crispy and is tossed in a tangy, spicy-sweet Tiger Sauce. This one is a 10/10 for me and I've ordered it more than 5 times now.I would also highly recommend the following:Eggplant Pork NoodlesBeijing Mu Shu PorkSesame Chicken (A very safe choice for those who are used to Chinese-American classics)House Spicy Pork (This dish is served in a spicy, chili-oil broth and I would highly recommend it on a cold day!)If you're feeling adventurous and you want to try one of the more authentic and interesting dishes, I'd tell you to try the "Guo Bao Pork." This dish was truly unique in regards to my own palate, and although the flavor caught me off-guard at first, I ended up really enjoying it!Our favorite appetizers are:Meizhou Pork BunsPork Soup DumplingsSzechuan Dumplings (Served in a spicy, chili-oil)And for dessert? They have the absolute BEST Sesame Balls (filled with sweet red bean paste) I've ever had. I'm pretty sure they make them in house (but don't quote me on that) and they are incredibly soft, chewy and bigger than others I've had elsewhere. The bottom line is... GO TO TEA HOUSE :)
I love Chinese food and was looking forward to trying out the Tea House by the U of M while visiting my son at his dorm. The dishes posted here, had so much peppercorn in them it really killed the taste for me. Even 3 hours later I can still taste the sharp and piney flavor lingering inside my mouth. My husband and kids couldn't finish their food either. It was so hard to take more than a few bites from it and eggplant and tofu are my two favorites! Never had issues at theTea House in St. Paul Suburban, HoHo gourmet or Peking Garden on similar dishes. The waiter asked how everything went after he saw that we hardly touched our food. I told him that the dishes were overpowered by the peppercorn. He responded by telling me that he thought so too because he could smell the strong peppercorn smell in the dishes when bringing them out to us. The other dishes we ordered were ok (pork buns, dumplings, fries wontons), it was just these ones that didn't work out for us.
Wow. I haven't been here in a long time. Large menu selection. Do many choices. I didnt knownwhich to pick. I had the szchechuan dumpling and love it. Spicy and sweet chicken dumpling!
Great variety of authentic Szechuan food
I highly recommend it!It was our first time dining here, and we did not get disappointed. Food was exceptionally delicious. Customer service was on point. A+ overall experience!
The food we ordered is very delicious. Really like it!
very cute seatings. Food was displayed beautifully. Our soup dumplings did not have any soup in it. Was very disappointing. Strawberry drink was delicious. Majority of food tasted a little bland. Not sure if we just don’t have the tongue for their food but unfortunately we won’t be returning. Thanks for the experience.
The food was so delicious. They have a lot of vegetarian options. I had the king pao tofu. I loved it. Generous portions. Great for sharing. The service was also great. I will definitely eat there again.
If you want to live your best life you MUST eat here! This place offers a one of a kind experience. I have never been to a fancy Chinese restaurant, but since eating here, I have seriously been missing out! When we arrived we sat down at our table in the middle of the dining room, and we asked them if we could eat in the private room they said yes! I have only seen this type of dining on movies. The pork buns were absolutely one of the best. Also the scallion pancakes, king pau chicken, sesame chicken, and the fried tofu dish. I can’t wait to come back and experience this a second time!
best authentic Chinese cuisine I have ever had. the presentation of the food just like picture on the menu. highly recommend
