Beautiful flavors, beautiful atmosphere and beautiful staff! Such a treat to find this gem while visiting Minneapolis. The carefully curated ingredients create a mosaic of delicate authentic flavor. Chef knows what's up when it comes to balance as well. I honestly cannot complain about a single bite I had. What truly put this place over the top was the love and enthusiasm the staff had about it as well. When your employees buy in like their staff does, it's a winner all day. If you want something outside of refried beans and wilted iceberg lettuce, do yourself a favor and hit this place up!
I came in last week on a recommendation from a friend and I wasn’t disappointed. I really enjoyed the rojo tacos and the ambience of the restaurant very dope vibes. The staff was friendly from the servers to the bartender I believe her name was Katie she was very pleasant( I hope I’m not wrong). There also was a host who was very welcoming and I enjoyed the friendly back and forth banter we exchanged. I came in today and I could tell she had a long day, but I understand because I work in the service industry. You guys have definitely earned a loyal customer and I will frequent this establishment a lot, as well as recommend it to as many people as I know. 5 Stars for sure. ????
Great Food!!!! Good prices! Excellent choices! Can't say enough about it.
Great lunch spot.
We went on a Friday for happy hour, it wasn't bad but wasn't spectacular. Service/attention was good but the kitchen did forget we ordered tacos along with other food. The same thing happened to a couple of tables around us.We ordered chips and queso (came out a bit cold but was very good), the Sonora Hotdog (very good), and the burger, and tacos. We never got to try the tacos, and everything else was good with the exception of the fries which were a bit soggy and lacked some more seasoning.Cocktails including the margarita and the sangria were tasty and great for a warm evening.
I was not impressed with this place. The food was overall bland, and it was extremely overpriced.I ordered the chimi, which is $18 according to the menu. Oh, but you want meat in that? Extra $6 for that. I ordered what they call "chicken tinga". I have had tinga in Mexico (as well as Sonoran food in Tucson) and I can assure you that what I ate was not tinga. If you're going to put it on the menu as a known dish, like tinga, you should probably make it close to the way people would expect. Otherwise, call it something else and say it's "inspired by" the original recipe. Even the chimichanga itself was not really a chimichanga! I'd also like to ask what is the point of including some weak beef broth (they call it consomme because that's more fancy) with a chimichanga?Bottom line, this is hipsterized, price inflated, quasi-Mexican/Sonoran food. Two stars because the michelada was tasty and so was the margarita.
I had a Mahi Mahi fish taco and this one was very beautifully served and was terrifically delicious and I have to say that it was so pretty I took a picture of my entire.

Pretty much everything here is expensive. No whining about it. But everything we had was delicious. The chips and queso was fantastic. I got the tacos. It was the best steak taco I’d ever had. I tried a different kind, Chicken Rojo, and it was good also. But not nearly as good as the steak.I see they have a brisket taco now also. I’ll have to try that one.Best taco I’ve ever had. Period. Great atmosphere. Friendly, quick service even on a busy Friday early evening.I’ll be back.
This is a restaurant that climbs to the top for Minneapolis favorites and I hope this place always remains. Lots of options for herbivores and meat lovers with custom options too. The fish tacos, coconut rice, and remolacha salad are all fan favorites - so delicious, light, yet fulfilling. Service is always smooth and chill. The patio is great too for the non-winter seasons.
