Hometown taste??????so happy to find this place, best Cantonese restaurant in Mid-West!
Yikes! Overly salty. At least they offered to recook the dish willingly. Will give them that. But, Ingredients are not fresh. Shrimp were tasteless - a bad sign. Their roast duck is pretty sad by normal standards. Visiting from New York, it just wasn’t worth the price.
i like authentic Chinese food, it is so different from the Americanized version of Chinese food. This Hong Kong version reminded me of my Hong Kong trip.
see images for their recent menu.I ordered their combination veg options and a veg fried rice. they were good. Food is decent. Quantity was reasonable too. It could be a challenge if you want to customize your dishes since there might be a language problem. They charge extra for hot oil I feel that is silly for the price. Almost every other Chinese restaurant gives it for free.Overall experience was decent.
They do have the Fantastic food Hong-Kong' Style kitchen we love it very much!of course they're having a super Services ? at the place
This is an excellent place near the University of Minnesota with free parking. The customer service was fantastic. The serving time was great. The inside temperature of the restaurant was great. They have a large number of options for a variety of diets and spice tolerance. Looking around, everyone seemed to enjoy their food.I ordered the lemon juice chicken, sesame chicken, and the curry tofu and vegetables on rice. The portions compared with price, especially for the deal lunch options were outstanding for this type of restaurant in this location. I took leftovers from a $10 meal.
We went there for lunch on a cold weekday, found a meter nearby to park my car. The restaurant was not busy, we ordered 3 dishes plus one appetizer for three people. The deep fried fish was tasty, inside was tender, outside was crispy. My husband and I liked the salt yolk flavored shrimp, my daughter didn't eat it since the shrimps had heads and shells. The honey roast BBQ, poached chicken and roast duck appetizer was good. The Ma la chicken pot tasted really good, but there was not much you can eat, bone in bite pieces barely had any meat. The portion was above average, three dishes should be enough for three people. We have some leftover for dinner. The service was quick and great, the food was good. it is one of the best authentic Chinese restaurant in twin cities area.
I regularly go to all three cantonese-style restaurants on these two blocks and they are all good in various ways. I would always go to Sidewalk for their roasted meat items and the very Hong Kong - specific items, such as the Cantonese style lo mein, beef briskets, hot pots, for example. Their roasted items are very well seasoned and marinated. The portion is also very generous. For $40 of food it can probably last for 4-5 meals for me, with a bit of rice cooked at home and veggies. The food quality is very consistent and is fresh and well prepared.
Fantastic food and wonderful people. They were kind enough to make the sizzling tofu vegetarian for me--and it was the best dish I've tried in a long time.
Woo...finally I found some good Asian food in Minneapolis. This place the people who serve you and greet you have the best energy. The food was good, we super love their diced spicy chicken, Shanghai mini bun, cream cheese puffs, hot and sour soup, Mongolian beefs. Highly recommends!
