Food was decent. However the amount we paid we should have gotten much better service. We went for a pre fixe menu on Valentine's Day. We also got the wine pairing. It took 30+ minutes before anyone came to ask us about drinks or explain the menu. My wife upped to the duck breast for twenty dollars extra. They didn't explain that they were bringing her the duck breast paired wine instead of the "standard" wine but charged us 10 dollars for that wine. The duck came out cold as well.Over all it was not worth the value.

Excellent service, very knowledgeable about the menu. Very friendly. You order your whole meal at once so the timing is flawless. The food was amazing. We tried almost everything. They bread with that whipped herb butter. The pork belly salad. The gnocchi with such a delicate texture,l. The duck that sauce so savory as it seems to melt in your mouth. Thanks to Chef Will!

It was an EXPERIENCE! Great vibe for date night or just trying something new/different. The food and service was good.

My family and I had a festive dinner at this restaurant! We liked it very much: the cuisine is delicious, everything is excellent and tastefully prepared and served. The service is very attentive, we were given a good recommendation in the choice of food?☺️ Prices are reasonable, the atmosphere is cozy! Recommend!!!

We put off going here for a long time simply because we got busy or just plain forgot about it. But we're glad we finally made it to St. Genevieve. First, let me start off about the service. It's great! We sat at the bar and the bartender was so pleasant and delightful. We had great laughs. Now, the food. Amazing. I got the mushroom and guyere burger and it is possibly thee best burger I've had in a looooong time. I almost didn't want to offer a bite to my man. He ordered two dishes (sorry, I forgot the names) and they were both delicious. Great visit all around.

It's been a long while since I've enjoyed a meal as much as I did tonight. From conception to presentation, the staff delivered at an exceptional level. Thank you!

I booked this restaurant knowing really nothing about it or the Minneapolis food scene. I was looking for a French restaurant and chose this based on mostly professional reviews I found online. I was somewhat surprised (albeit pleasantly) to discover the restaurant is a small establishment in a residential neighborhood. This appeals to me. I like the idea of high quality, authentic food that fits into its community without the fussiness that often accompanies larger, more celebrated institutions. The staff were pleasant and happy to chat with this solo traveler/diner. The restaurant was fairly empty and I was seated at the bar, which works fine for me when I'm on my own. (Side note: I have to confess I loved the music that was playing. First piece I recognized immediately as Songe d'automne which, despite its tragic history, works super well in a French café.) I started with the seared scallops which were absolutely wonderful. The beurre blanc was done perfectly and the combination of ingredients made a perfect bite every time. I wasn't quite ready for my entrée so I added on a half dozen oysters. They arrived quickly (not always the case with oysters) and met expectations. Next was the duck breast. I loved this. It was cooked to an ideal medium/medium rare and wonderfully seasoned. Not too fatty, as duck can be at times. The citrouille au caramel finished of the meal in a manner befitting a fine autumn evening out. My one small gripe is that I found the portions a bit smaller than I'd have liked. Even with the oysters I still could've eaten more, but maybe that's due to all the walking I did that day. Definitely worth a trip out of downtown if you're looking for a classy but casual French dining experience in a cozy neighborhood. As an added bonus, there are some interesting little shops nearby worth checking out.
